The event celebrated the progress and achievements of students who participated in the schoolโ€™s reading intervention program.

The program formally started at 10:00 AM with a solemn prayer followed by a nationalistic song, both presented through an audio-visual presentation (AVP). These opening segments set a reflective and patriotic tone for the event.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Ana Marie DC. Mercado, Head Teacher I, welcomed the students, teachers, and guests. She highlighted the importance of strengthening literacy skills among learners and commended the collective efforts of the teachers and tutors who guided the students throughout the ARAL program.

An inspirational message was delivered by Dr. May A. Avelino, School Head, who emphasized that reading is a foundational skill that opens doors to lifelong learning and success. She encouraged the learners to continue practicing their reading skills and to view every book as an opportunity to grow and discover new ideas.

Although the SPTA President, Hon. Jovelyn Navarro, was scheduled to deliver the Message of Partnership, she was unable to attend the event. Nevertheless, the school acknowledged the continuing support of parents and the community in strengthening the reading initiatives of the school.

The program proper featured engaging activities showcasing the reading skills of ARAL learners. An interactive activity titled โ€œ๐™Ž ๐™–๐™ฃ๐™™ ๐˜ผ ๐™’๐™ค๐™ง๐™™ ๐™Ž๐™˜๐™–๐™ซ๐™š๐™ฃ๐™œ๐™š๐™ง ๐™ƒ๐™ช๐™ฃ๐™ฉ,โ€ where ARAL learners and tutors worked together to identify and collect words, making the learning process both collaborative and exciting.

Another highlight of the program was โ€œ๐™๐™š๐™–๐™™๐™ž๐™ฃ๐™œ ๐™ž๐™จ ๐™๐™ช๐™ฃ!โ€ under ARAL Plus, presented by Norjelyn Ordonio Bondoc, a Grade 10 student from Fronda. Her presentation reflected improved reading confidence and comprehension skills gained through the program.

Learners also participated in ๐™ช๐™ข๐™—๐™ก๐™š๐™™ ๐™‡๐™š๐™ฉ๐™ฉ๐™š๐™ง๐™จ ๐™€๐™™๐™ž๐™ฉ๐™ž๐™ค๐™ฃ,โ€ a dynamic activity where ARAL learners and tutors solved word puzzles by rearranging letters to form meaningful words. The activity strengthened vocabulary development while maintaining a fun and engaging learning environment.

One of the most anticipated parts of the event was the ๐˜ผ๐™๐˜ผ๐™‡ ๐™€๐™ญ๐™ž๐™ฉ ๐˜พ๐™š๐™ง๐™š๐™ข๐™ค๐™ฃ๐™ฎ, where students who achieved grade-level reading competency were formally recognized as ARAL Exiters. Their achievement marked a significant milestone, reflecting their dedication and the guidance provided by their tutors.

An audio-visual presentation highlighting the ARAL Program Implementation for School Year 2025โ€“2026 was also shown. The AVP showcased the different activities, interventions, and collaborative efforts that contributed to the programโ€™s success throughout the school year.

To conclude the program, the closing remarks were delivered by Maโ€™am Clariza Mae Guiang, Head Teacher III, on behalf of Mr. Edsel L. Natividad. Tibag High School conducted the 3rd Collaborative Expertise on ARAL Reading convened on December 2, 2025, at the Principalโ€™s Office to strengthen the schoolโ€™s efforts in improving learnersโ€™ reading skills. The meeting brought together teachers to review the current implementation of the program and discuss ways to enhance support for non decoding and non comprehending readers.

The agenda focused on key areas that affect the progress of ARAL learners. Updates on the conduct of reading sessions were presented, followed by concerns about student absenteeism and its impact on their improvement. The reading coordinator, Ma'am Lynneth Mariz Catalan, reechoed the shared practical suggestions from the division-based seminar and workshop titled ARAL READING ON THE GO: Workshop on the Development of Check-In and Digitized Assessment cm Mid-Year Evaluation and Presentation of Guidelines on Literacy Hubs, such as communicating more closely with parents and holding grade-level deliberations to better understand each studentโ€™s standing in class. In addition, the group discussed the conduct of the upcoming Check-In Assessment for the Mid-Year Reading Assessment, as well as the use of the Division Progress Report and the Individualized Reading Intervention Plan (IRIP) to guide targeted interventions weekly. The meeting also clarified the exit condition for learners, emphasizing the need to sustain grade-level fluency.

Overall, the collaborative session served as an important opportunity to reflect on current practices and strengthen coordinated efforts for the ARAL Reading Program. By addressing challenges, aligning assessment plans, and ensuring clear expectations, the team reaffirmed its commitment to helping every learner build the reading skills needed for success.
