𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐨𝐧, 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲—Our Mid-Autumn Festival held last October 15, 2025 was a truly heartwarming and culturally enriching celebration that brought our school and community together in a spirit of unity, learning, and joy.
This year’s theme beautifully reflected the essence of the festival — a time to honor heritage, strengthen bonds, and celebrate the traditions that connect us across generations. The event was a vibrant tapestry of Chinese and Filipino cultures, thoughtfully woven through performances, food, and shared experiences.
Our talented and passionate learners took the spotlight with captivating presentations that showcased the beauty of both cultures. These performances not only entertained but also educated, fostering deeper understanding and pride in our diverse heritage.
A delightful highlight was the preparation and sharing of authentic Chinese delicacies, with the iconic mooncake taking center stage.
We extend our sincere and heartfelt gratitude to 𝘿𝙧. 𝙅𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣 𝙂𝙖𝙢𝙗𝙤𝙖 ( Education Program Supervisor), for joining us and adding warmth and wisdom to the celebration. Your presence truly elevated the event. We also deeply appreciate the steadfast support and encouragement of 𝘿𝙧. 𝙇𝙖𝙬 𝙈. 𝙎𝙖𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙜𝙤 (OIC-School Head), whose commitment to cultural education continues to inspire our learners and community.
This celebration was more than just a festival — it was a joyful affirmation of who we are and what we can become when we learn from one another. Under one moon, we stood as one family, embracing tradition, diversity, and the shared journey of growth.

In a heartwarming celebration of the Mooncake Festival, our Grade 9 and Grade 10 SPFL students dipped their brushes in coffee and let tradition guide every stroke. Through the rich hues of brewed coffee, they brought to life stunning artworks that beautifully blended culture, creativity, and connection.
We extend our deepest gratitude to 𝙈𝙖'𝙖𝙢 𝙅𝙤𝙮𝙘𝙚 𝘿𝙍 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙛𝙖𝙣𝙖 for her unwavering guidance and inspiration throughout the coffee painting activity. Your dedication, talent, and passion for teaching transformed this celebration into a truly memorable and meaningful experience.

Today’s observance, 𝐊𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐲, emphasizes the importance of shared mealtimes as a sacred space for connection, love, and unity. It’s a reminder that in every Filipino household, the dining table is more than just a place to eat — it’s where stories are told, values are passed on, and bonds are strengthened.
The SPFL Chinese Mandarin family joins the nationwide celebration by proudly sharing photos of our families, showcasing the warmth and diversity of Filipino family life. Through this gesture, we not only honor our loved ones but also embrace the essence of the day — that family is the foundation of a strong, compassionate society.

Susì may be small, but it holds the power to protect what matters most. 🗝️✨
Derived from the Hokkien word 鎖匙 (Só-Sî), susì refers to a key—an everyday object that represents safety, privacy, and control.
Its integration into Filipino vocabulary shows how deeply Hokkien has influenced the language we use in daily life, especially around home and personal security.
Stay tuned this Buwan ng Wika as we unlock more Filipino words with Hokkien roots! 🇵🇭📖
