🚨 WHAT REALLY HAPPENED?
For many women in the Philippines, commuting isn’t just about getting from one place to another—it’s about staying alert, protecting personal space, and hoping to arrive home safely.
Harassment on public transportation can take many forms, including unwanted touching, catcalling, stalking, intimidation, and other inappropriate behavior. No one should have to fear simply because they’re traveling to work, school, or home.
Harassment is never the victim’s fault. Everyone deserves to commute with dignity, respect, and safety.
🛑 If you witness harassment:
✅ Speak up if it is safe to do so.
✅ Support the person being harassed.
✅ Alert the driver, conductor, security personnel, or nearby authorities.
✅ Encourage victims to report the incident.
Creating safer public spaces starts with all of us. Respect one another, stay aware of your surroundings, and never ignore someone who may need help.

🛡️ Your safety comes first. Consider carrying a legal personal safety tool, such as pepper spray (where permitted by local laws), and learn how to use it properly. Pepper spray can provide valuable time to escape and seek help during an emergency—but it should only be used for self-defense. Stay alert, trust your instincts, and always prioritize getting to a safe place.
