We, the Fourth-Year students taking Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Tarlac State University will be conducting a ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐๐ต ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ ๐ฒ๐ป๐๐ถ๐๐น๐ฒ๐ฑ โ๐๐๐ง-๐๐ฅ๐ง-๐๐๐ฆโ today, at the TSU Gymnasium and in front of Smith Hall Building in celebration of World Mental Health Month this October.
The booth's name, "๐๐๐ง-๐๐ฅ๐ง-๐๐๐ฆ," (CAT- a small furry domesticated Felis species, ART- a visual object or experience consciously created through an expression of skill or imagination, and ICS- denoting arts or sciences, branches of study, or profession) inspired from the word โCATHARTICโ that embodies the concept of providing psychological relief through the expression of strong emotions, causing catharsis. The term 'catharsis' originates from the ancient Greek word 'katharsis' which connotes "purification" or "cleansing."
In line with this year's celebration of World Mental Health, the main objective of ๐๐ ๐ฃ๐๐๐ฐ๐ต๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐, ๐ฐ-๐ญ ๐๐๐ฒ in this event, "CAT-ART-ICS," is to extend a helping hand to animal shelters by donating funds to support the animals in need. We strongly believe that every animal deserves to be treated with love, care, and compassion, and we are committed to contributing our part in making this possible. Our passion for animal welfare drives us to take action and make a positive impact on the lives of these lovely creatures.
Our motivation and reason why we came up with helping animals is that it's heartwarming to see how much animals can positively impact our mental well-being. Research has shown that emotional support animals can be incredibly helpful for individuals struggling with various challenges. These furry companions offer a source of comfort and companionship, which can be invaluable during tough times. Additionally, caring for animals can provide a sense of purpose and fulfillment. It's truly remarkable how much love and support these animals can provide unconditionally.
As pet owners, we recognize the importance of showing our love and appreciation for our furry friends who bring us immense happiness. And now, it is time for us to give back love.
