The Forestry Student Organization takes part in the celebration of World Wildlife Day!
Today marks the celebration of World Wildlife Day; and as one of the most biodiverse spots on the planet, the Philippines is blessed with a rich assortment of wildlife, many of which are unique and exclusively found in the country.
From the breathtaking flora of the upper montane rainforests, to the schools of aquatic fauna in marine ecosystems, the Philippines has always been a hotspot for biodiversity.
However, due to anthropogenic activities, our local wildlife often face the brink of extinction. Activities such as mining, poaching, deforestation, and intensive & unsustainable agricultural practices, pose a significant risk to all wildlife.
And so, as forestry students, we must be at the forefront of advocating for and protecting our local wildlife; not only because it is our duty to the country and to the environment, but it also ensures the longevity and health of the ecosystems we interact with and exist in.

The CAF Week celebration started off with a bang, as forestry students joined the CAF Grand Parade, sporting their white attire and their green sprout hair clips, showing off their forestry pride around the campus. This opening program signaled the start of a three-day celebration of CAF pride, excellence, and community, filled with activities for students to show off their abilities, and represent their respective departments.
