CLINICAL BACTERIOLOGY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

As part of their continuous preparation for the Medical Technology Licensure Examination, our BSMT 4 interns proceeded to the Clinical Bacteriology phase of their Enrichment Program under Medical Technology Assessment Program 2 and Seminar 2.

Clinical Bacteriology is a major discipline in Medical Technology that focuses on the isolation, identification, and characterization of medically significant bacteria responsible for various infectious diseases. It involves the application of fundamental principles in specimen collection and processing, culture techniques, staining procedures, biochemical testing, antimicrobial susceptibility testing, and interpretation of laboratory results. Mastery of this field is essential in aiding accurate diagnosis, effective treatment, and infection control.

Following a comprehensive lecture session, the interns underwent an assessment examination designed to evaluate their understanding of key bacteriology concepts and diagnostic principles. This was followed by a reinforcement examination aimed at enhancing their analytical thinking, clinical correlation skills, and board exam test-taking strategies under pressure.

This phase of the enrichment program reflects the dedication, perseverance, and commitment of our interns as they continue to strengthen their competencies in preparation for the Medical Technology Licensure Examination.

The 4th Clinical Research Symposium was successfully concluded last May 5, 2026, carrying the theme, “𝙄𝙣𝙣𝙤𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙞𝙣 𝙃𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙝 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝: 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙘𝙞𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙚.” More than a presentation of studies, the event became a celebration of curiosity, collaboration, and the continuous pursuit of innovation in health research.

The symposium formally opened through the inspiring message of the ever-exemplary Dean of the Department of Medical Technology, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗝 𝗟𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗕. 𝗙𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗲, who reminded everyone that beyond excellence in science and research, respect, integrity, and compassion remain at the heart of the healthcare profession.

This symposium once again proved that the future of Medical Technology is in great hands— continuously evolving as we grow, innovate, and contribute to the advancement of health and science.

CLINICAL PARASITOLOGY ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

As part of their continued preparation for the Medical Technology Licensure Examination, our BSMT 4 interns advanced to the Clinical Parasitology phase of their Enrichment Program under Medical Technology Assessment Program 2 and Seminar 2.

Clinical Parasitology is a fundamental discipline in laboratory medicine that focuses on the identification and study of parasites affecting humans, including protozoa, helminths, and arthropods. It plays a critical role in the diagnosis and management of parasitic infections through proper specimen collection, processing, and microscopic examination. Mastery of this field requires keen observation, strong analytical skills, and a deep understanding of parasite life cycles, morphology, and diagnostic stages.

Following an in-depth lecture session, the interns were assessed through an examination designed to evaluate their knowledge and comprehension of key parasitology concepts. This was followed by a reinforcement examination aimed at strengthening their clinical reasoning, diagnostic accuracy, and board exam test-taking strategies under pressure.

This phase of the enrichment program highlights the interns’ dedication to mastering essential competencies in Medical Technology and their commitment to excellence as future healthcare professionals.
