BAKIT SA G**O NANAMAN ANG SISI!?

Hindi lahat ng values at behavior ng isang estudyante ay maaaring isisi sa g**o. Ang paaralan ay lugar kung saan hinuhubog at pinauunlad ang kaalaman, disiplina, at character ng mga bata, pero ang unang tahanan pa rin ang pangunahing pinagmumulan ng values, respeto, at asal.

Maaaring magturo ang g**o ng tamang asal, ngunit hindi niya kayang palitan ang papel ng magulang sa pagpapalaki. Kung nais nating magkaroon ng mabuting asal ang mga estudyante, hindi sapat na tingnan lamang ang paaralan, kailangan ding tingnan kung ano ang natututunan at nakikita nila sa kanilang tahanan.

Teachers can guide, educate, and influence but parents/guardians and the home play the first and most important role in shaping a child’s values.

When Schools No Longer Feel Safe

The recent incidents highlighted in this graphic are a serious reminder that educational institutions must remain safe spaces for learning, development, and growth.

📍 **June 22, 2026 – Tacloban City:** School shooting incident
📍 **Late June 2026 – Cavite City:** Reported school stabbing incidents
📍 **July 1, 2026 – Bacolod City:** School stabbing incident
📍 **July 2, 2026 – City of General Trias:** School stabbing incident
📍 **August 18, 2026 – Zamboanga City:** School shooting incident

These incidents underscore the urgent need to strengthen safety and security measures in schools while ensuring that students, teachers, and school personnel receive the support they need.

“Pabata nang pabata ang nagkakaroon ng access sa baril” at this is becoming increasingly alarming.

Our schools should be safe spaces—not places where we wait for a tragedy to happen before taking action.

We need stronger and proactive security measures:

* Allocate additional funds for school security.
* Properly train and equip security guards.
* Consider scanners or other appropriate security screening at school entrances.
* Strengthen gun-control measures, especially regarding minors’ access to fi****ms.
* Hire school counselors who can help students struggling with emotional, behavioral, or personal concerns.
*Gun control must be strengthened.

Do we really need to wait for something terrible to happen before we act?

Prevention should come before tragedy. The safety of our students, teachers, and entire school community must be a priority—not an afterthought.
