The Philippine Red Cross immediately mobilized its emergency response and welfare assets late this morning following a vehicular crash involving a passenger jeepney in Sitio San Pedro, Brgy. Iba, San Jose, Tarlac.

The incident, which occurred at 11:39 AM today, May 31, involved a jeepney carrying passengers who were returning from attending a Holy Mass at the Monasterio de Tarlac.

Upon receiving the report, the PRC National Headquarters Operations Center instantly coordinated with the Tarlac PDRRMC and local RC143 volunteers to validate the incident and organize support mobilization. The PRC Tarlac Chapter swiftly deployed an emergency ambulance with three personnel to the scene, where they immediately provided medical assistance, including vital signs monitoring for a patient on-site.

All 14 injured passengers have since been safely transported to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital for continuous medical care.

Recognizing the urgent needs of the victims and their families, our teams coordinated closely on-site with Mr. Robert Mano of DZMM to gather vital ground information and process a blood request related to the incident. To ensure full hospital-based support, our Welfare Manager coordinated directly with Chapter Administrators to activate a specialized welfare team to the Tarlac Provincial Hospital to run a dedicated Welfare Desk, establish family links, and provide necessary psychosocial support.

​The Philippine Red Cross remains in tight coordination with hospital staff and local government responders to ensure all survivors receive the comprehensive medical and emotional care they deserve.

🩸Blood transfusion with contaminated blood
🤰🏻Mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding
