Mr. Gio Ivan Atencio, a Bachelor of Public Administration student from Tarlac State University (TSU), represented the Philippines in the 5th Youth Network on Drugs Prevention Programme held in Thailand from May 11 to 21, 2026, joining youth leaders from 10 Southeast Asian countries in a regional initiative on drug abuse prevention and control.

Ms. รzge รekirge, the first visiting professor under the Erasmus+ KA171 Faculty/Staff Exchange Program at Tarlac State University (TSU), officially began her two-week academic engagement with the University on May 21, 2026 through a series of orientation and institutional familiarization activities at the College of Engineering (COE).
รekirge was first introduced to the College of Engineering before being toured around the different department offices by Engr. Cid Lapuz, Internationalization Coordinator of COE, and Engr. Enalyn T. Domingo, Associate Dean of COE. The tour included visits to the offices of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department, Civil Engineering Department, and Mechanical Engineering Department.
As part of the orientation, รekirge also visited the COE Library, as well as the various laboratories and facilities of the College, where she was introduced to the Universityโs academic and research environment.
In the afternoon, she visited the Museo-Archivo Tarlaqueรฑo to learn more about the rich history of both TSU and the Province of Tarlac. She was later introduced to the different offices at the Universityโs Main Campus as part of her institutional immersion under the Erasmus+ KA171 mobility program.
The two-week mobility program is expected to strengthen academic cooperation and intercultural exchange between Tarlac State University and Tarsus University through collaborative discussions, research engagements, and shared learning experiences under the Erasmus+ KA171 Faculty/Staff Exchange Program.

Tarlac State University (TSU) officially welcomed its first visiting professor under the Erasmus+ KA171 Faculty/Staff Exchange Program, Ms. รzge รekirge of Tarsus University, in a significant step toward strengthening the Universityโs international academic partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
As part of her academic engagement at TSU, รekirge will participate in a series of academic, research, and institutional activities with the College of Engineering (COE), particularly the Electrical Engineering and Electronics Engineering programs. Her mobility program includes laboratory and facilities orientation, curriculum and accreditation discussions, faculty research presentations, bilateral research clinics, and visits to the Universityโs research and innovation centers.
She is also expected to engage in class observations and strategic planning sessions aimed at exploring opportunities for joint teaching, collaborative research, and future academic exchange programs between TSU and Tarsus University.
To further promote intercultural understanding and meaningful collaboration, a Tarlac Cultural Exploration tour will also be conducted as part of the program. รekirge is expected to stay at the University for two weeks under the Erasmus+ KA171 Staff Training Mobility Program.

Three Rohingya scholars of Tarlac State University (TSU) were formally introduced to the Provincial Government of Tarlac (PGT) during a courtesy visit held at the Tarlac Provincial Capitol, where discussions on possible support and assistance for the students were also raised yesterday, May 7, 2026.
The meeting served as an opportunity for the scholars to share their educational journey and experiences as international students pursuing higher education in Tarlac. Discussions centered on their academic life, adjustment to the local community, and the challenges they encounter while studying far from their homeland.
During the visit, the scholars were asked about their respective courses, their current living conditions, and their future plans after completing their studies. They also shared their aspirations of using their education to contribute positively to their communities and create better opportunities for themselves and others in the future.
Representatives from TSU emphasized the importance of providing inclusive and accessible education to students from vulnerable and displaced communities. The courtesy visit also highlighted the value of collaboration between educational institutions and local government units in promoting humanitarian and educational initiatives.
