DARAM, SAMAR — Amid the excitement and challenges of the 2026 Cluster Meet, FO2 Junel R. Tan extended a generous helping hand to the Tarangnan District delegation by donating ₱2,000 to support the athletes, coaches, and officials participating in the sporting event. His gesture served as an added encouragement to the delegation as they proudly represented Tarangnan District in the competition held in Daram, Samar.

The Tarangnan District delegation expressed its heartfelt gratitude to FO2 Tan for his generosity and support. DARAM, SAMAR — August 8, 2026. Two volleyball players from Tarangnan District, Rommel Adarayan of Majacob Integrated School and CJ Comonical of Tarangnan National High School, secured spots in the Samar Provincial Athletic Association (SPAA) Meet after a competitive tryout held at the Daram Covered Court.

The tryout gathered top young athletes from different districts, all aiming to represent Samar in the upcoming provincial competition. Adarayan and Comonical stood out for their skills, performance, and composure on the court.

Their selection is a proud moment for Tarangnan District as they prepare to compete in the SPAA Meet scheduled on August 15–16, 2026, in Paranas, Samar.

The achievement reflects the strong support of their coaches, schools, and community, as the two athletes carry the values of discipline, teamwork, and sportsmanship to the provincial stage.

Dominant Performances Propel Six District Athletes to Samar Provincial Athletic Association Meet TARANGNAN, SAMAR — Six promising athletes from Tarangnan District have earned the opportunity to represent the district at the Samar Provincial Athletic Association (SPAA) Meet set for August 15–16, 2026, in Paranas, Samar, following their impressive performances during the Cluster Meet.

The selected athletes emerged as among the district’s strongest performers, showcasing determination, athletic ability, and competitive spirit throughout the selection process. Volleyball Boys: Two Athletes Selected In Boys’ Volleyball, two athletes from Tarangnan District secured spots in the provincial delegation. Representing Majacob lntegrated School (MIS) is Rommel Adarayan, while CJ Comonical will represent Tarangnan National High School (TNHS).

Basketball Boys 5v5: Four Standout Players Selected Meanwhile, four athletes were selected for the Boys’ Basketball 5v5 team after displaying dominant performances during the Cluster Meet. Two players come from Tarangnan National High School (TNHS)—Martin Carcillar and Benjie Crame—while Kian Ogano and Jemmer Lordipas will represent Oeste National High School (ONHS). For Basketball 3X3 - 3 athletes were selected from Tarangnan District; Jan Kevin Soria,Justine David Quitilin from ONHS, and Aldrich Adona from TNHS. Basketball Girls only Jilian Abellonar from ONHS advances to SPAA. The 10 players were among the most dominant athletes in their category, earning recognition for their skills, intensity, teamwork, and ability to perform under pressure.

Their selection gives Tarangnan District a strong representation in the provincial basketball competition, with the athletes now preparing to face the best young players from across Samar.

TARANGNAN, SAMAR — Girl power took center stage as young female athletes from Tarangnan District stepped onto the basketball court for the much-anticipated Basketball Girls Tryouts, showcasing their skills, determination, and potential as they vie for a spot in the district delegation.

The tryouts focused on identifying promising athletes who possess not only basketball skills but also the agility, stamina, discipline, and fighting spirit needed to compete at the next level. The aspiring basketball players underwent a series of individual drills and skills assessment, giving coaches an opportunity to observe their fundamentals, confidence, and overall potential on the court.

Among the skills tested were dribbling, chest passing, and shooting, where the athletes demonstrated their ability to control the ball, deliver accurate passes, and find their rhythm from the shooting area. Beyond basketball skills, the athletes also faced agility and stamina checks through the “Tree Planting” activity, testing their speed, endurance, coordination, and ability to sustain physical effort.

Each drill became an opportunity for the girls to prove that they have what it takes to compete—not only through talent, but through hard work, perseverance, and determination. With every dribble, pass, and shot, the young athletes showed that the basketball court is a place where girls can play boldly, compete fiercely, and dream big.

𝘿𝘼𝙍𝘼𝙈, 𝙎𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙧 — The Basketball Boys delegation kicked off their morning activities with a series of individual skills, agility, and stamina assessments as part of their preparation for the Cluster Meet 2026.

The morning session focused on identifying the athletes’ individual potentials while assessing their physical readiness and fundamental basketball skills. The evaluation provided coaches and officials with an opportunity to determine the athletes’ strengths, areas for improvement, and overall preparedness for the competition.

The athletes underwent an Agility and Stamina Check, which included a tree-planting activity designed to test their endurance, mobility, and physical conditioning while promoting environmental responsibility.

Following the physical assessment, the players demonstrated their fundamental basketball skills through a series of drills, including dribbling, chest passing, and shooting. These activities assessed their ball control, passing accuracy, shooting ability, coordination, and overall basketball fundamentals.

𝑫𝑨𝑹𝑨𝑴, 𝑺𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒓 — August 8, 2026. The Tarangnan District delegation, composed of dedicated athletes, coaches, and officials, officially joined the opening program of the Cluster Meet 2026 held this morning at Daram Central Elementary School, hosted by Daram 2 District.

Welcoming the participating delegations, Daram District Sports Officer Mr. Glenn B. Balangat emphasized the importance of sportsmanship, fairness, and respect throughout the competition. He underscored the spirit of unity among the participating districts, reminding everyone that they are working toward a common goal.

𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗠, 𝗦𝗔𝗠𝗔𝗥 — Brimming with enthusiasm, determination, and team spirit, the Tarangnan Delegation has arrived in the Municipality of Daram, ready to compete in the 2026 Cluster Meet for Volleyball and Basketball.

Upon their arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed and assisted by the Daram Municipal Police Station (PNP Daram), ensuring a safe and smooth arrival of the athletes and delegation members.

The Cluster Meet is set to officially kick off on August 8–9, 2026, with Daram 1 District serving as the host. The sporting event aims to identify and select the best-performing athletes in Volleyball and Basketball who will represent the cluster in the forthcoming 2026 Provincial Volleyball and Basketball Tournament, which will be held in Paranas, Samar.

The competition will bring together athletes from Daram 1, Daram 2, Talalora, Zumarraga, and Tarangnan Districts, fostering not only athletic excellence but also camaraderie, sportsmanship, and unity among participating schools and districts.

As the games commence, the Tarangnan Delegation carries with them the pride of their district and the determination to give their very best on the playing court.
