Cavite State University, through its Gender and Development Resource Center (GADRC), successfully conducted a seminar-workshop titled โ€œFrom Plans to Progress: Institutionalizing GAD Attribution in University Operationsโ€ on July 30, 2025, at the GADRC Babaylan Training Room.
This capacity-building activity was participated in by GAD Coordinators and Budget Officers from various colleges, campuses, and administrative units of the University.
The seminar aimed to enhance institutional knowledge and accountability in integrating Gender and Development (GAD) into Programs, Projects, and Activities (PPAs), in alignment with both national and institutional priorities. Through insightful discussions and hands-on workshops, participants reviewed and revised their FY 2026 GAD Plans and Budgets, thereby strengthening their capacity to design and implement gender-responsive initiatives.
The program officially commenced with an Opening Message from Ms. Janet L. Rodriguez, GAD Coordinator of CCAT Campus, who emphasized that โ€œGAD attribution should not just be complianceโ€”it must be institutionalized.โ€
Ms. Raecel A. Estebat, Head of the Training and Courseware Development Division of Extension Services (CGRP, Batch 2), served as the resource speaker. She underscored the importance of gender mainstreaming in higher education and facilitated practical, output-based workshops that guided participants in effectively aligning sex-disaggregated data with budgeted PPAsโ€”reinforcing the institutionalization of GAD attribution across all levels of university operations.
The program concluded with closing remarks from Ms. Lady Joane B. Herrera, GAD Coordinator, of SPRINT Center, who expressed her sincere appreciation to the GAD Resource Center for organizing a timely and relevant training. She also acknowledged the invaluable contribution of the resource speaker in enriching participantsโ€™ understanding of institutionalizing GAD attribution within the CvSU system.
Cavite State University extends its gratitude to all participants, facilitators, and organizers for their active engagement and unwavering commitment to advancing inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive governance throughout the University.
