Cavite State University – Tanza Campus Research and Extension Services successfully conducted its first-ever SPARK (Student Preparation for the Advancement of Research Knowledge) on March 6, 2025, at the Bagtas Magkaisa (BM) Dome. The event aimed to equip student researchers with essential knowledge and skills to strengthen their research capabilities and promote the development of innovative studies that address the needs of the community, industry, and other sectors.

SPARK served as a platform for third-year students from the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE), Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEE), Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT), and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) programs to consult with research experts and raise inquiries related to their ongoing and future research projects. Through this initiative, CvSU-Tanza Campus reinforces its commitment to advancing research excellence by supporting students in producing meaningful and transformative outputs.

Cavite State University - Tanza Research and Extension Services held an outreach program for the less fortunate children of Barangay Bagtas that aims to spread joy and love. This activity could inspire people that this season is a good time to be a channel of blessing. The unit only aims 100 boxes of gifts, and surprisingly more than 200+ of gifts were collected. Donation from the faculty members, staff, student organizations, students, and other stakeholders made this activity successful.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who generously donated to our Project Shoebox. Thanks to your generosity, we successfully collected and turned over 232 gifts in shoeboxes. This is a testament to the thoughtfulness and care of our community.

Thank you for being a part of this meaningful initiative. Together, we have proven that collective efforts can make a lasting difference in the lives of others this Christmas season.

Faculty members and staff of Cavite State University - Tanza Campus participated in 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙚, 𝙀𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙜𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙍𝙚𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙘𝙝 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙀𝙭𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 (𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘), a two-day Seminar-Workshop from 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟭𝟴-𝟭𝟵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, at International House I, CvSU - Main Campus, Indang, Cavite. The event aimed to enhance the skills of faculty members and staff in packaging research and extension proposals that consider ethical research practices and .

Day 1 program began with a warm welcome message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐂. 𝐋𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐳, 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘱𝘶𝘴 𝘈𝘥𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘳, followed by an inspirational message from 𝐃𝐫. 𝐌𝐞𝐥𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞 𝐑. 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐜, 𝘝𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘗𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯, emphasizing the importance of research in fostering innovation and addressing societal needs. The training started with a talk about 𝑭𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍 𝑷𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑺𝒖𝒃𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 which was discussed by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐀𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐬, 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘕𝘊𝘙𝘋𝘌𝘊. Moreover, the afternoon session was a discourse from the 𝘌𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘴 𝘙𝘦𝘷𝘪𝘦𝘸 𝘉𝘰𝘢𝘳𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐊𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐞𝐥𝐚 𝐑𝐢𝐧𝐭-𝐇𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐚 about 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 𝑬𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒄𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑬𝑹𝑩 𝑭𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑭𝒖𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉 followed by the 𝑲𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒍𝒆𝒅𝒈𝒆 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒗𝒂𝒏.

Furthermore, Day 2 was full of insights about the extension process and measures for 𝑷𝒂𝒄𝒌𝒂𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑭𝒖𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝑬𝒙𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒂𝒍 which the 𝘋𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘌𝘹𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐆. 𝐀𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧 also emphasized the importance of the initiatives of faculty members in conducting extension programs. The afternoon session was filled with an interactive discussion about 𝑯𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒅 𝑮𝒆𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑫𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒍𝒐𝒑𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑮𝒖𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 delivered by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐀𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐋. 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚, 𝘎𝘈𝘋 𝘈𝘥𝘷𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘋𝘦𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘊𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘈𝘚-𝘊𝘷𝘚𝘜-𝘛𝘔𝘊, and an interactive Q&A session.

The 2-day seminar concluded with fruitful exchanges of ideas in preparing proposals reflecting CvSU-Tanza faculty members and staff's commitment to conduct more research and extensions that could improve life in the community.

As we navigate the digital era, the Cavite State University - Data Protection Office (CvSU-DPC) urges the CvSU community to take responsibility in protecting and securing our personal data.

Below are the Smart Practices to keep your Data Safe:

1. PROTECT YOUR IDENTITY

Personal Information such as phone number, birthdate, address, ID numbers, and bank account
details can be used to identify, locate, and contact an individual. Avoid suspicious requests and
never provide personal details of yourself and others to random personnel without any
legitimate purpose.

2. CLEAN DESK POLICY

A Clean Desk Policy doesn’t mean you need to wipe down your desk every day. It involves
removing anything that contains sensitive information from your table before leaving or at the
end of each workday. Avoid leaving in your desks USB sticks, post-it notes, and other documents
bearing important data such as passwords, account numbers, etc.

3. SECURE LOG-IN ACCESS

Use a two-factor authentication for logging into accounts to avoid losing personal data due to
phishing. Use strong passwords which do not include any personal information and should be
unique for every account and device. Although it’s convenient to remember one password for
everything, if your password gets compromised, an unauthorized individual could potentially
have access to several important accounts.

4. DON’T CLICK THAT LINK

Hyperlinks can often connect to a web domain different from the one they appear to represent.
Some links might display a recognizable domain name (such as www.cvsu.edu.ph) but in fact,
direct the user to a different malicious domain. Avoid clicking on unverified links, pop-ups, and
downloads which can contain viruses and malware. When in doubt, type the domain directly
into the web browser to avoid clicking links in email.

5. EDUCATE YOURSELF

Make an effort to read more about privacy and security to ensure you know how to stay safe
and how to avoid unnecessary risks online and offline.
