Champ Learners of Tinongcop, ES, HURRY UP, MAKE THE LIST!

March 15, 2021-Due to major changes in the Academic Year (SY) 2020-2021, the Department of Education (DepEd) will conduct early registration for SY 2021-2022 on March 26 to April 30 , 2021.

Starting this one month activity to ensure that all upcoming students are registered for the teaching year and to be prepared for the Department of possible issues and problems that may arise about it, it is also based on DepEd Order No. 3, s. 2018, or the Basic Education Enrollment policy.

“All incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1, 7, and 11 in public elementary and secondary schools shall pre-register to allow the Department to make necessary preparations and incoming plans for the coming school year,” ani Kalihim Leonor Magtolis Briones.

The Secretary emphasized that those in Grades 2-6, 8-10, and 12 are considered pre-registered and no longer need to join early registration.

Early registration is ordered in all public schools while it is optional only in private schools, but it is also mandated by private schools to implement the Kindergarten cut-off age order under DO No. 20, s. 2018.

Meanwhile, DepEd reminded all schools and the public to follow the precautionary measures against COVID-19 in the early registration.

“In the context of the prevailing COVID-19 public health emergency, the conduct of early registration shall be done remotely in areas under General Community Quarantine (GCQ). In-person registration through parents or guardians may be allowed in areas under Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) provided physical distancing and health and safety protocols are strictly observed,” dagdag ni Briones.

Last year, in line with physical distancing and community quarantine measures, the Department conducted remote enrollment in the first two weeks of the month. On the third week, physical enrollment was carried out in conjunction with the local government and with the help of physical enrollment platforms set by the schools.

In recent years, regional and schools division offices have formed groups that will lead advocacy campaigns. Each school assigned early registration desks, where there is a designated person for registration. They also conducted house-to-house campaigns, distribution of print materials, social media information campaigns, and interact with parents, barangay officials, civic and people's organizations, and other stakeholders.

Early Registration was launched to help the Department see the expected number of enrollers in the coming academic year and also appointed according to DepEd Order No. 3, s. 2018, or the Basic Education Policy.

Aside from upcoming Kindergarten and Grade 1, 7, and 11, it also wishes to find, identify, and register out-of-school-youth and children with disabilities ; living in off-grid community; staying in barangays without school; living in geographically isolated area; displaced by disasters; living in armed conflict areas; staying in areas with high crime / crime cases - drug abuse; there is chronic illness; there is nutritional problems; victim of abuse and economic exploitation; stateless / undocumented; in conflict with the law; living on the street; and youth who are out of school but want to go back to school .

The early registration campaign ensures the right of all school-aged students to register and be provided with quality, accessible, deserving, and free basic education.

NOTE TO ALL PARENTS:

1. Never let your child compete with others for they will grow with insecurity and may hurt themselves in the process.
2. Never expect too much from them as a student, for they will fabricate stories just to please you.
3. Allow them to make mistake so they will learn a lesson from it.
4. Try not to scold them all the time of their failure so they will develop honesty.

Instead, teach them to accept defeat.

5. Their attitude in school will reflect on how they are raised up at home.
6. Teach them respect at home so they will know how to respect other people esp their classmates.

After all, fame and high grades are never the bases of their future, it is their character. Those are temporary and we are never permanent.

PARENTS, I SALUTE YOU ALL FOR BEING THE GREATEST TEACHER TO YOUR CHILDREN although parenting is never easy...

*Let's help them build self-esteem instead.. not all babies are born engineers, lawyers, or doctors... some are musicians, singers, and artists...let's nurture them the way God has designed them to be.
