🚨 SCAM ALERT: “HUY, NAG-APPLY BA KO NITO?” 😂 🚨
Beware of emails like this one!
For context: I have NEVER applied for a PR Visa in Canada. 🇨🇦
And surprise… I am NOT a Student Affairs Administrator either. In fact, never ko pa na-hold ang position na ‘yan. 😂
So when this email landed in my inbox, my first reaction was:
“Hala… kanus-a pa man ko nag-apply ani?!” 🤣
But seriously, this is exactly why we need to be careful.
1️⃣ “Why did this email even reach my inbox?”
Honestly, hindi ko rin alam. 😅 It could be a mass-sent email, spam, phishing attempt, or your email address may have been obtained from somewhere online. Just because it landed in your inbox doesn't mean it’s meant for you—or that it’s legitimate.
2️⃣ “What if I replied?”
Before replying, VERIFY FIRST. Check the sender, the organization, and whether you actually applied for or requested anything from them.
In my case? Ni hindi ko sila kilala. Ni hindi ako nag-apply. Ni wala akong PR Visa application. 🚩🚩🚩
So, what should we do?
🔍 1. CHECK BEFORE YOU CLICK.
Verify the sender and the organization. Look beyond the display name—check the actual email address.
🚫 2. DON’T GIVE AWAY YOUR DETAILS.
No personal information, passwords, IDs, bank details, or documents until you’ve confirmed who you’re dealing with.
🗑️ 3. WHEN IN DOUBT, DELETE & REPORT.
Hindi porket mukhang professional ang email, legit na. Sometimes, scammers also know how to use Canva. 😂
Bottom line:
If you didn't apply, request, register, or transact for something—ask yourself first: “Why am I receiving this?”
Pause. Verify. Think twice before clicking.
Because sometimes, the biggest red flag is simply:
“TEKA LANG… HINDI NAMAN AKO ‘TO.” 😂🚩
