In pursuit of knowledge and enriching experiences, students from the AB-Communication Program, under the guidance of their Program Coordinator, Prof. Ni**od Ll. Rosauro, along with their instructors, Mr. Mark Jesson Wasquin and Mr. John Mark Occeña from the Institute of Arts and Sciences actively participated in the “SIBYA- the 11th Northern Mindanao Student Communicators Congress on June 10, 2023, at SM CDO Downtown Premiere Mega Screen Cinema, Cagayan de Oro City.
The congress centered around the theme, "Truth Withstanding: Media Integrity in the New Age” emphasizing the significance of upholding factual reporting despite the influence of technological advancements.
In addition to their participation in the congress, the students embarked on a Media Tour 2023. They visited Friends Radio 96.7 FMR in Iligan City, where they gained valuable insights, first-hand experiences, and a practical understanding of the day-to-day operations and dynamics within a media organization. These invaluable experiences will undoubtedly contribute to their personal growth and preparedness for their future careers in the field of communication.
This educational tour was made possible through the earnest support of Dr. Maricelle M. Nueva, the GADTC President, and Hon. Sabiniano S. Canama, the City Mayor. Their unwavering support of the Institute of Arts and Sciences is sincerely appreciated. Daghang Salamat!

The faculty and AB Pol. Sci students go international
Congratulations to the faculty and AB-Political Science students under the Institute of Arts and Sciences of the Gov. Alfonso D. Tan College who attended the 2023 Philippine Political Science Association International Conference (PPSAIC) with the theme, "International Dissents and Friendships in a Post-pandemic Realist World,” on June 7-8, 2023, at West Visayas University, Iloilo City. The student attendees were Vin-Chel Candano, Bavin Wagas, and Edison Enerio, and the faculty were Prof. Eldie Bulajao, Prof. Preachy Mae S. Esin, and Prof. Lieza Yazmin O. Banaag. The aforementioned conference was participated in by different professionals from well-known schools in the Philippines and across the globe. The conference served as an avenue for these brilliant individuals to present their academic research in an international arena.
