Today, the SSLG officers proudly joined the Fun Run Activity organized by the Local Government Unit (LGU) Tangalan in commemoration of World AIDS Day.
‎
‎This day is not just an ordinary day. World AIDS Day is a global movement where people come together to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, show support for people living with the HIV/AIDS, and remember those people who have lost their lives.
‎
‎HIV/AIDS is a virus that be transmitted through unprotected sexual contact, sharing of infected needles, and from mother to child during pregnancy, childbirth, or breastfeeding. With the right information and proper health practices, HIV can be prevented, and with early testing and treatment, people living with HIV can live long, healthy lives.
‎
‎We want to emphasize the importance of education, awareness, and compassion. Stigma and discrimination against people living with HIV should stop as it only creates fear, spread misinformation, and prevents individuals from seeking the help and support they need.
‎
‎Let us work together to build a community that is informed, understanding and supportive. Normalize HIV testing, protect your health, and encourage others to do the same. Prevention is better than cure, and early detection saves lives.
‎
‎Together, let's continue raising awareness, spread kindness, and support every individual in our community.
