๐ง๐๐ก๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฌ โ In a heartwarming display of commitment to educational equity, the Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) Program of DepEd Caraga Region rolled out a meaningful bag distribution initiative for indigent learners of Hitaob Elementary School and students under the Open High School Program (OHSP). The activity, marked by genuine community spirit, became a testament to how unified leadership can open doors of opportunity for young learners with limited means.
This effort was strengthened by the unwavering support of DepEd CARAGA Regional Director Maria Ines C. Asuncion, whose leadership ensures that inclusive and learner-centered programs continue to reach the most remote and underserved communities. Alongside her, CLMD Chief Sir Bernabe Linog provided essential guidance in ensuring that ADM initiatives remain responsive to the learning needs of diverse student groups across the region.
Led on the ground by Sir Leowenmar A. Corvera, the dynamic Regional ADM Focal Person, the program delivered not just school bags but also complete learning suppliesโtools that many students only dream of having. For the recipients, each bag symbolized hope, encouragement, and a renewed sense of belonging in the academic world.
Working hand in hand with the regional team was the Schools Division Office (SDO) of Tandag City, steered by the firm direction of Assistant SDS and OIC SDS Maโam Jasmin R. Lacuna, whose commitment to community outreach strengthened the success of the initiative. Supporting her was CID Chief Dr. Jeanette R. Isidro, whose oversight helped ensure that the activity aligned with the divisionโs goal of equitable and accessible education for all learners.
Division ADM Focal Dr. Carolina M. Rogero further ensured the seamless grassroots implementation of the project. Supporting the initiative at the division level was Dr. Gemma B. Espadero, EPS-LR, whose technical guidance reinforced the proper mobilization of learning resources essential to the success of the activity. Their synergy with the implementing school, Jacinto P. Elpa National High School (JPENHS), turned the initiative into a model of purposeful collaboration.
At JPENHS, Principal IV Dr. John Michael A. Tuyor stood at the forefront, reaffirming the schoolโs commitment to serving communities beyond its campus. Alongside him, Dr. Zyx Raxie Cuartero, ADM School Coordinator, worked tirelessly to ensure that the project reached the intended beneficiariesโlearners who bravely pursue education despite economic challenges and geographical limitations.
During the distribution, the smiles of the students told stories: stories of burdens lifted, of excitement for the coming school days, and of aspirations reignited. Teachers from Hitaob Elementary School led by Mrs. Jocelyn S. The presence and support of Mrs. Bihon, the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) of Barangay Hitaob, together with the community Chieftain, further highlighted the importance of the initiative to the local IP community. Their participation underscored how education continues to serve as a unifying forceโbridging families, leaders, and institutions in uplifting the next generation.
