The Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Institute (SANRI) is a unit within the University of Rizal System Main Campus that will operate as an integral part of the Research & Development, Extension and Production Division of the University. It is a unit that will integrate University and community expertise in the development and promotion of sustainable farming systems throughout the pro

We are delighted to share the success of our recently concluded DAY 1 of " Training- Workshop on Empowering URS Faculty Researcher in Conducting Research in Sustainable Agriculture and natural resources held on August 18, 2025 at Conference Room, 3rd Floor, New Municipal Bldg. Pililla Rizal . The workshop gathered enthusiastic participants from URS who were eager to enhance their knowledge and skills in Research.

Throughout the session, participants actively engaged in discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative learning that fostered both professional growth and teamwork. ๐Ÿ’ก

Just wrapped up a fruitful activity during 'Kick -Off Activity on Sustainable Communal Garden in the Municipality of Pililla & Seminar- Workshop on Integrated Crop Management for Communal Garden' held on June 23, 2025 at Conference Hall, New Municipal Hall of Pililla, Brgy. Bagumbayan, Pililla Rizal.

Seminar Completed!! JUNE 05. 2025

The Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Institute(SANRI) In collaboration of the Municipal Agriculturists in the Province of Rizal, University Extension URS Extension Services Unit and University Production Services. Successfully conducted an onsite seminar "Seminar on Farm Products Value- Adding Techniques"

The seminar explicitly supports the development goals of the local and national government in advocating activities like supporting food security and sustainability by engaging and educating the communities and farmers of the developed technologies on agriculture, agri-processing and economic trends in agricultural products and services.

Special thanks to all the participants from the different municipalities in Province of Rizal and to the Resource Speaker for imparting Knowledge and Experiences , DR. NORA D. RAMOS and PROF. JESAMEL P. BUMATAY, and for all the support of University administration for making this activity possible.

As part of its specific objectives, Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Institute (SANRI) accommodates Students from the College of Agriculture (COA) under the supervision of Professor Ma. Olivia Ross Fulgado. The Student is being assisted by Roberto R. Reyes a farm worker designated to SANRI by showing and guiding the student on how the proper use the hand tractor/ rotovator. Tanay, Rizal โ€” April 8, 2025 โ€” The University of Rizal System (URS) through its Research, Development, Extension, and Production (RDEP) Division is conducting its First Quarter Accomplishment Reporting and Review of Units/Officesโ€™ Plans and Targets for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 today at the Conference Room, RDEP Training Center, URS Tanay Main Campus.
The activity brought together the heads of units and staff under the RDEP Division, representing the following offices and centers:
โ€ข Research Development
โ€ข Extension Services
โ€ข Production Services
โ€ข Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resources Institute (SANRI)
โ€ข University Statistics Center (USC)
โ€ข Environmental and Education and Biodiversity Research Center (EEBRC)
โ€ข Intellectual Property, Innovation, Technology Support Hub (IPITSH) and Project 1B
โ€ข Food Analytical Research Services Laboratory (FARSL)
The event will provide a venue for each unit to present their respective first quarter accomplishments, report on ongoing initiatives, and evaluate the alignment of their activities with the strategic goals of URS for FY 2025. It also served as a collaborative planning session to enhance coordination and synergy among RDEP units.
In her welcome remarks, Dr. Marites M. Rio, Vice President for Research Development, Extension and Production expressed appreciation for the unwavering dedication of the staff and unit heads, underscoring the importance of sustained productivity, innovation, and community engagement through research and extension.
The reporting and review session will foster transparency, evidence-based assessment, and forward planningโ€”geared toward further strengthening URSโ€™s thrust in academic excellence, technological advancement, and societal impact.
As URS continues to expand its reach and relevance, the RDEP Division remains committed to advancing initiatives that contribute meaningfully to national development and local community empowerment.
