DepEd Ilaya Elementary School Public Elementary School Our History

Ilaya Elementary School, located at J.M. Bendana Sr. Flores (now Yujuico Street).

Catolos Street, Barangay Tandang Kutyo, Tanay, Rizal, has a proud tradition of nurturing young minds. The school sits on a 4,804-square-meter campus, acquired in June 1938 through donations and support from the Tanay Municipal Government under Mayor Simeon R. The first Grade I class opened in June 1938 at the corner of Austria and A. As enrollment grew, a two-room building was constructed at the c

urrent site in 1939 and first used in 1940. Operations were temporarily suspended during the war but resumed in April 1945 with reconstruction efforts. By 1951–1952, Ilaya Barrio School became a complete primary school. To accommodate more students, additional classrooms were built, and temporary spaces were rented from nearby houses. On July 17, 1959, the main building was completed, followed by further infrastructure development. In the 1962–1963 school year, the school celebrated its first graduating class of 44 students. Since then, generations of educators, principals, and staff have dedicated their hearts to providing quality education, ensuring every child at Ilaya Elementary School has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODE: LEARNING CONTINUES BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
