𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐔𝐀𝐍, 𝐋𝐞𝐲𝐭𝐞 | 𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — In a significant step toward revitalizing one of the University's specialized learning facilities, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU)–Tanauan Campus conducted a comprehensive technical assessment of its existing Ceramics Laboratory.

The assessment was spearheaded by Engr. Rodrigo V. Dejeto, PMatE, Assistant Professor VI of the University of the Philippines Tacloban College, who served as the invited technical expert and resource person. Through his expertise, the University's existing ceramics facilities, equipment, and laboratory infrastructure were thoroughly evaluated to determine their current condition and identify priority areas for improvement.

The initiative was led by Dr. Rose Anna L. Refuerzo, Campus Director, whose vision to rehabilitate and modernize the Ceramics Laboratory paved the way for the technical assessment. Assisting in the initiative was Dr. James R. Pedrera, Head of the Office of Research and Innovation, who coordinated the activity in support of the University's research and innovation agenda.

During the assessment, Dr. Ramelito R. Paler, Head of the Technology Department, presented the historical development of the Ceramics Laboratory and highlighted its significant role in the University's academic programs and in preserving the pottery-making heritage of the Municipality of Tanauan. Select faculty members from the Technology Department also participated in the activity by assisting in the inspection and providing technical information regarding the laboratory's existing facilities, equipment, and instructional operations.

The results of the technical assessment will serve as a critical basis for the University's planning, budgeting, and resource mobilization initiatives for the rehabilitation and modernization of the Ceramics Laboratory. The recommendations generated from the assessment are likewise expected to guide future developments that will strengthen the University's capacity to deliver quality instruction, advance research and innovation, and expand community extension programs through a modernized ceramics facility.

This initiative reflects EVSU–Tanauan Campus' continuing commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and the preservation of the municipality's rich pottery-making tradition by providing students and the community with a laboratory that meets contemporary educational and industry standards.

The Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) is currently conducting a validation and documentation activity for students who belong to identified underserved sectors. This initiative supports the University’s goal of promoting equitable access to scholarships, student assistance, and welfare programs.

✅ Who may participate?
➡ 𝟰𝗣𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 (must present DSWD proof of membership; 4Ps ID)
➡ 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀 (𝗜𝗣) (with NCIP Certification or proof of tribal/ancestral domain membership)
➡ 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗣𝗪𝗗) (with PWD ID or certification from LGU/MSWDO)
➡ 𝗘𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗱 – 𝗡𝗼𝗻-𝟰𝗣𝘀 (students experiencing financial hardship but not covered by 4Ps, supported by barangay certification or similar proof)
➡ 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝗼 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀/𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 (with Solo Parent ID) [students who are children of only one parent and/or single students who are raising their own children]
➡ Other underserved students (example: orphans, homeless, or similar cases with proper documentation)

• Photocopy of Valid School ID (for Continuing Students)
• Photocopy of Proof of category (4Ps ID, Solo Parent ID, IP Certification, PWD ID, Barangay or DSWD Certificate of Indigency, etc.)
• Photocopy of Supporting documents if applicable (medical records, displacement certification, or other relevant documents)

ℹ️ Purpose of this activity:
➡ To update the official database of underserved students
➡ To determine eligibility for scholarships, financial assistance, and student support programs
➡ To ensure that assistance is properly distributed to deserving students

All concerned students are strongly encouraged to comply before the deadline to prevent delays in the processing of benefits and possible inclusion in university and government assistance programs.
