DULAG, LEYTE — Tanauan National High School secured the championship in the Science Debate 2026 held at Dulag Function Hall on September 2 as part of the Division Science, Technology and Mathematics Fair (DSTMF) 2026.

The winning team consisted of Athalia Anvaye C. Eval, Arianne Rose D. Ladan, and William Levy S. Camarillo, coached by Christopher L. Hilaria.

The team stood out through their scientific knowledge, critical reasoning, and ability to construct and defend arguments throughout the competition.

During an interview, one participant shared their experience and said:

“The debate was really intense and exciting. We only had one week to prepare for this competition, so we relied mainly on our general knowledge of the topics. Whenever we got the opposing side, we focused on preparing our rebuttals to what our opponents said. If we were on the affirmative side, we focused mainly on further defending the topic.”

Tanauan NHS’s victory highlights the team’s preparation, adaptability, and ability to defend their arguments under pressure, bringing recognition to their school in the Science Debate 2026.
