Araw ng Kalayaan ng Pilipinas
Hunyo 12, 1898
Ang Araw ng Kalayaan ay isang mahalagang pagdiriwang sa kasaysayan ng Pilipinas. Tuwing ika-12 ng Hunyo, ginugunita natin ang araw kung kailan idineklara ng ating mga ninuno ang kalayaan ng bansa mula sa mahigit 300 taong pananakop ng mga Kastila.
Noong panahon ng pananakop ng mga Kastila, maraming Pilipino ang nakaranas ng kahirapan at hindi pantay na pagtrato. Maraming karapatan ang ipinagkait sa mga Pilipino, at marami rin ang naghirap dahil sa mataas na buwis at mahigpit na pamamahala. Dahil dito, nagsimulang lumaban ang ating mga bayani at mga rebolusyonaryo upang makamit ang kalayaan ng bansa.
Pinangunahan ni Heneral Emilio Aguinaldo ang deklarasyon ng kasarinlan noong Hunyo 12, 1898 sa Kawit, Cavite. Sa araw na iyon, masayang iwinagayway sa unang pagkakataon ang watawat ng Pilipinas bilang simbolo ng kalayaan at pagkakaisa ng mga Pilipino. Tinugtog din sa unang pagkakataon ang ating pambansang awit na noon ay tinawag na “Marcha Nacional Filipina.”
Hindi naging madali ang pagkamit ng kalayaan. Maraming Pilipino ang nagsakripisyo ng kanilang buhay upang ipaglaban ang bansa. Kabilang dito ang ating mga pambansang bayani tulad nina Dr. Jose Rizal, Andres Bonifacio, Apolinario Mabini, at marami pang iba na nagbigay inspirasyon sa mga Pilipino upang ipaglaban ang kanilang karapatan at kalayaan.
Ang Araw ng Kalayaan ay hindi lamang pag-alala sa nakaraan kundi paalala rin sa bawat Pilipino na mahalin at pahalagahan ang ating bansa. Bilang mga estudyante, maipapakita natin ang ating pagmamahal sa bayan sa pamamagitan ng pagiging masipag sa pag-aaral, paggalang sa kapwa, pagsunod sa batas, at pagiging mabuting mamamayan.
Mahalagang tandaan na ang kalayaan na tinatamasa natin ngayon ay bunga ng katapangan, pagkakaisa, at sakripisyo ng ating mga ninuno. Kaya naman nararapat lamang na ito ay ating ingatan at pahalagahan para sa susunod na henerasyon.

A 2-day Seminar Workshop on Campus Journalism was conducted by Dr. Bayani Hero Balba held at The Master Creator’s Learning Center May 18-19.
It aims to enhance our student and teacher 's capability in Campus Journalism.
Dr. Balba stressed that everything they will learn out of that activity can be useful to polish the Master's Touch school paper, to win in the Press Con contest even until national level, until they reach High School level and in the future that they may wish to be a journalist someday.
Everyone got motivated by that reminder that made them participate every part of the program.
Certificates of Recognition were given to the winners in different categories ( Newswriting: Fact and Accident story, Editorial and Feature Writing).
MCLC is so grateful and acknowledging the effort of Dr. Balba for inspiring our students and teachers to that significant and very remarkable activity.
