𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗙𝗶𝗹𝗺 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲: 𝗗𝗔𝗔𝗟𝗠𝗛𝗦 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻

Dr. Antonio A. Lizares Memorial High School launched the school-based film screening of the TaliSine Short Film Festival showing all nine competing short films from 9 different secondary public and private schools of the SDO Talisay City today, August 18, 2026, in the school's covered court, Brgy. Dos Hermanas.

The school-based TaliSine Short Film Festival premiere was graced by the presence of Direk Jonathan P. Jurilla of the University of the Philippines and Director of Netflix Movie Love, Child.

Direk Jurilla shared his insightful message to the cast, crew and the entire audience on how film making is such a good ground in expressing one's self and in celebrating the beauty of art in filming.

Nine short films from different competing schools were screened for everyone, entitled Dutan-on, Dabo-Dabo, Limbong, Bitso-Bitso, Padayon, Tagu, Palapak, Panublion, and Sincerely Dos Hermanas, with the first eight entries shown followed by the presentation of the host school entry as the culminating film.

A Talk Back Session facilitated by the teacher-producer which allows interaction between the audience, the casts and directors concluded the event.

The crew and cast emphasized that these films are not only a showcase of talent but also a source of inspiration that they hope will encourage the students to pursue their own stories and advocacies in the future.

The audience responded with great appreciation as the films delivered strong messages of courage, hope, and inspiration that resonated deeply with the students and teachers present.

Recent incidents of school-related violence across the Philippines underscore the continuing need to strengthen safety, prevention, and support within educational institutions.

For us Lizarians, these reports serve as a reminder that maintaining a safe school environment is a shared responsibility. Every learner deserves a community where they can pursue education free from violence, fear, and intimidation.

Several cases of school-related violence, including fatal stabbings and shootings, have been reported over the past three months, beginning June 16. The latest incident was the August 18 shooting at Ateneo de Zamboanga University, which left two people dead.

This captivating production was built from the ground up by our dedicated campus journalists, with a special appearance by our very own alumni, Edmarie Rustico and Kris Vincent Rotelo.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝟵 𝗞𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗧𝗩 𝗚𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗛𝗲𝗶𝘀𝘁

Shock and disbelief filled the Grade 9 - Kindness classroom today, August 17, 2026 after its television set was found missing, believed to have been stolen by an unidentified suspect who allegedly entered through the comfort room during Friday night or over the weekend.

Class Adviser, Ma'am Janice L. Bayona, with the help of Head Teacher I, Ma'am Marlyn R. Basilio and School Principal Mr. Raymund G. Grijaldo, immediately reported the incident to the barangay and school authorities to assist in identifying the suspect and determining how the suspect clearly entered the classroom.

Though recovery of the television is unlikely, the Grade 9 - Kindness students and teachers are appealing to the public to help identify the suspect, especially if the stolen item is being sold online or in the community, to prevent similar crimes.

Diri sa tunga sang malapad nga talamnan sang tubo sa Dos Hermanas, ginasulat ang amon istorya. Kada baston sang tubo kag sa tagsa ka tulo sang dugos sini naga bit-bit sang kaugalingon nga istorya.

Sa amon nga lugar, ang kainit matam-is apang may luha kag balhas sang pamilya sa tunga sang kapigaduhon.

Indi lang ini basta duta, ini ang amon kabuhi, ang amon handum, kag ang amon bwas-damlag. Saksi ang hapon sa Talisay nga ang amon pagka mag-utod, subong sang gamot sang katubhan, indi gid mabali ukon mapanas sang panahon.
