The BIT- Apparel and Fashion Technology program showcased a fusion of culture, heritage, and Filipino fashion while embracing modernity during the Excelsior Night event of CHMSUโs 4th Foundation Week.
Students presented their take on the Terno and Barong Tagalog, telling a story rooted in ancestral traditions that shaped Philippine history and the fashion industry. From the Baro, Tapis, and Saya to modernized designs, the runway served as a torchbearer for future ChMSUan designers an open letter to the next generation to cultivate and preserve the distinct fashion identity of Filipinos.
The all-gender runway, led by Organization President ๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ง ๐พ๐ค๐จ๐๐จ and ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐๐ฎ๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐ Teacher In-charge in collaboration with designers from the Negros Island Region, highlighted gender equality and inclusivity across the university. The event was held in partnership with the Student Affairs and Services, headed by ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐๐๐๐ฉ๐ค๐ง๐๐ ๐๐๐ค๐ก๐๐ฃ๐๐; the Culture and Arts Office, headed by ๐๐๐ง ๐๐ค๐ก๐ก๐๐ ๐ฟ. ๐พ๐๐ช๐๐๐ก๐ก๐ค๐จ๐ ๐๐ผ๐., Culture and Arts Director; and ๐ฟ๐ง. ๐ผ๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ ๐ผ๐ฃ๐ฃ ๐. ๐๐๐ฃ๐๐๐ค.
