NIR SPAA Leaders Represented Region at NSPC 2026 School Paper Exhibit
ORMOC CITY โ The Negros Island Region (NIR) marked its presence at the National Schools Press Conference 2026 as leaders of the School Paper Advisers Association (SPAA) participated in the School Paper Exhibit held at SM Center Ormoc on April 14.
Leading the delegation was SPAA President Ricardo S. Misajon Jr. of SDO-La Carlota City, together with Vice Presidents Aljun E. Jomalesa of SDO-Silay City and Elvira E. Navera of SDO-Dumaguete City under the guidance and assistance of the Regional English Supervisor, Jose Ernie Buelos. They were helped by NIR-SPAA officials Amelin Joy Pabillo and Junerey D. Garilao, with support from school paper advisers from SDO-La Carlota City, namely Hope Arren M. Pineda, Gezelle B. Tangub, and Elmarie A. Atienza.
The group spearheaded the regionโs participation in the exhibit, which featured selected school publications from across the country. The display highlighted learner outputs that reflected local stories, culture, and journalistic work.
The School Paper Exhibit officially opened through a ribbon-cutting ceremony and was made accessible to conference delegates and the public. Organizers noted that it was the first time the exhibit was conducted in this format during the national conference.
The National Schools Press Conference gathered student journalists, advisers, and education officials nationwide to promote campus journalism and journalistic excellence.
NIRโs participation marked its inclusion among regions that presented entries in the national exhibit as part of the conference activities.
