THE INSTITUTION
A. HISTORY
STO. B. C. D. E. F. It aims:
1. Character
a.
The school is first and foremost a “Family and community of friends” having but one mind and one heart in the service of God. NIÑO PREPARATORY SCHOOL (SNPS) was established and registered with the Department of Education (DepEd) June 1986. The school started with Nursery and Kindergarten for children with ages 4 to 6 years old. The two OSA Nuns serve as mentors / teachers of the children, with two
classrooms only. In 1987 to 1989 the population of the School increased, thus Nursery, Kindergarten and Preparatory were offered. March 11, 1994, SNPS received its DepEd Recognition # 4 s 1994. Being confronted with the demands of sisters’ community life as contemplatives and the DepEd’s requirement of licensed teachers, since year 2000 until at present that lay teachers are hired. In compliance with DepEd’s K to 12 Program, starting 2013 SNPS offerings are the following: Nursery 1, for 3 years old, Nursery 2 for 4 years old and Kindergarten for 5 years old. With the Sisters’ close supervision, quality education and formation is always ensured. PHILOSOPHY
The Augustinian way of education is characterized by love and understanding. The School is first and foremost a “FAMILY” and a community of friends “having but one mind and one heart” in the service of God. The School should be a place where sense of community is experience, where people live together without fear of one another, and where free and creative exchange of views and ideas stimulated the learning process. VISION
In the light of Christ’s salvific act and of the Augustinian Spirituality, we envision a school community as a living witness of God’s unfailing love and care, thereby upbuilding His kingdom of love, truth, peace and unity. MISSION
In response to the needs of the Church and signs of our times, SNPS is committed to realize and perpetuate its “motto”, VIRTUE and SCIENCE. It aims to provide relevant education and formation to attain self-realization by developing the pupils’ physical, social, moral, intellectual and spiritual aspects, thus he/she will have that deep sense of love and responsibility for oneself, others and God’s creation.
