Aged-care workers receive a pay increase.
Workers in the aged care industry have been acknowledged by the
Fair Work Commission (FWC) in its decision to raise award wage for direct care
workers.
The FWC awarded direct care workers wage increases of between 3%
and 14%. This is on top of the 15% increase to their award rates last year.
Aged care clients and industry body, are applauding this
change, as a key recommendation of the Aged Care Royal Commission was to raise the pay of staff.
Nurses and care givers in Australia play a vital role to support
older people, at The Migration Agency we welcome this news because we
recognise that fair pay is essential to attract top talent, with the right
skills and disposition, to work in the sector.
