Talibon Polytechnic College Elects New Supreme Student Council Officers

Talibon, Bohol – On September 24, 2025, at 11:48 PM, the election results for the Supreme Student Council (SSC) at Talibon Polytechnic College were officially announced, marking the conclusion of a successful electoral process. Students from various departments exercised their right to vote, electing a new set of officers to represent the student body for the upcoming academic year.

Elvin Gulay was elected as the new SSC President, with Jillian Therese Gurrea serving as Vice President. Rey Maturan was elected Secretary, while Christy May Gurrea secured the position of Treasurer. Jea Valmoria will take on the role of Auditor, and Jeth Torremocha and Dexin Paul Polo were chosen as Public Information Officers. Additionally, Walter Caturza and Lende Luga were elected as Public Relations Officers.

The newly elected officers have expressed their commitment to enhancing student life and encouraging active participation in campus activities. In his victory speech, President Elvin Gulay emphasized his vision of fostering unity and collaboration across departments. “I am honored to be chosen as your leader. Together with my team, we aim to ensure that the voice of every student is heard and that we work toward a more inclusive and dynamic student community,” Gulay stated.

In addition to the executive officers, representatives from various academic programs were also elected. The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (BAPS) will be represented by Jamaica Auxtero and Joseph Evalaroza, while Mark Garcia and Chinky Gurrea will represent the Bachelor of Arts in English Language Studies (BAEL). The Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) elected Ma. Janice Garcia and Vinci Cajes as representatives, with Trisha Kaye Galambao and Nichole Anne Rama representing the Bachelor of Science in Accounting Information Systems (BSAIS). Jovan Wencelao and Mery Cris Garcia were chosen to represent the Bachelor of Science in Information Systems (BSIS), and Jhon Micheal Ramis and Jaynos Auxtero will represent the Bachelor of Science in Criminology (Crim). Finally, Lugea Curiba and Mark Curiba were elected to represent the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECEd).

The SSC election was well-organized, with a high voter turnout. The newly elected officers are expected to assume their roles immediately, with an inaugural meeting planned to discuss their agenda for the academic year. The student body remains optimistic that this new leadership will address key issues and foster positive changes on campus.

MECHANICS
1. The contest is open to all TPCnians. This is a FREE REGISTRATION.
2. Each course should have a group representative to join the contest.
3. Each participating group must consist of 10 performers.
4. The performance shall not exceed five (5) minutes but not less than three (3) minutes. No dangerous props or stunts are allowed.
5. Criteria for judging as follows:

Storyline (Aligns w/mental health awareness) - 40%
Creativity & Originality - 30%
Visual/Costume Impact - 15%
Audience Impact - 15%
TOTAL - 100%
