AUGUST 15, 2026 — Harold Horolan of Mahanay High School (MHS) finished second in the 200-meter dash during the 2026 District Meet held at Domingo R. Yana Elementary School, clocking 32.93 seconds.

Torremocha hurls MHS to Discus Gold

August 15, 2026 - Dwayne James Torremocha emerged as champion 🥇 in the boys’ discus throw during the 2026 District Meet at Domingo R. Yana Elementary School.

Torremocha was the lone MHS athlete who represented ZAGPELMA in the competition. He delivered a strong performance in the field to clinch the discus throw title over other district contenders. His victory earned him a spot on the ZAGPELMA delegation for the upcoming Municipal Meet.

MHS bags medals in District Meet Jumping Events

AUGUST 15, 2026 — Mahanay High School (MHS) athletes displayed strength, determination, and sportsmanship as they bagged multiple medals in the jumping events of the 2026 District Meet.

In the girls’ long jump, Jan Rhea Lupar defended her title to emerge as champion 🥇, while Jamaica Torreon placed third🥉. In the boys’ division, Niel Adam Palma secured second place 🥈and Ej Amit finished third🥉.

Torreon dominated the girls’ triple jump, claiming first place 🥇 , while Lupar added another medal after placing second 🥈. Palma soared to the boys’ triple-jump championship🥇, with Amit taking third place🥉.

In the girls’ high jump, Lupar again earned the championship title🥇, while Torreon grabbed third place🥉. In the boys’ division, MCYMNHS claimed the championship, CHS placed second, and Palma finished third🥉.

August 07, 2026 — The teaching staff of Mahanay High School took part in DepEd Night 2026 as part of the celebration of the Feast of Barangay Bagacay in honor of its patron saint, Señor San Roque.

NEW one-storey, three-classroom building officially turned over

AUGUST 06, 2026 — Mahanay High School students and teachers have more reason to smile as a new one-storey, three-classroom building was officially turned over today. The facility aims to improve classroom safety and the overall learning environment.

The turnover ceremony was led by Congresswoman Van‑Van Cadorna Aumentado and attended by Schools Division Superintendent Representative Lope S. Hubac, Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Percy P. Torres, Barangay Captain Rogelio Torremocha, PTA President Ramel H. Torreon, contractor Richard Stephen Cruda, and representatives from the DPWH 2nd District Engineering Office. Aumentado made the event more meaningful by emphasizing that education is a top priority for the district; she said investing in school facilities is an investment in the future of every student.

Local officials, teachers, and students joined the program to witness the blessing, ribbon cutting, and symbolic turnover of the key to the school.

With the new facility, the school community looks forward to a brighter school year with more space for learning and student success. A get‑together lunch followed the formal program, allowing guests to meet and congratulate the school administration and teachers.

MHS dominates Arnis events at Zonal Meet 2026

August 01, 2026 - Mahanay High School’s arnisadors displayed strength, strategy, speed, and sportsmanship during the Zonal Meet 2026, held at Zosimo A. Gulle Memorial National High School.

Five athletes emerged victorious 🥇: James Terence Mangubat, Banjo Torreon, Reymart Botero, Dexel Faith Baynosa, and Shiela Mae Tormes, earning them a spot in the District Meet 2026. Despite tough competition, the arnisadors relied on their skills, determination, and discipline to secure their victories and advance to the next level.

The athletes credited their success to the support of their peers, their inspiration, and the guidance of their coaches. Their performance proved that hard work, confidence, and perseverance can help athletes overcome challenges.

MHS soars high in jumping events at Zonal Meet 2026

August 01, 2026- Mahanay High School athletes showed their skills and determination in the long jump, high jump, and triple jump events during the Zonal Meet 2026.

In the boys’ division, Harold Horolan won first place 🥇in the high jump, reaching a height of 16 feet. Neil Adam Palma also placed first 🥇in the triple jump, while Ejay Amit placed first 🥇in the long jump.

In the girls’ division, Jan Rhea Lupar earned first place 🥇in the long jump and became the high-jump champion, while Jemaica Torreon secured third 🥉place in the high jump and long jump and first place 🥇 , as she achieved the highest standing, in the triple jump.

The athletes credited their achievements to their determination, faith, coaches, and the support of their fellow students. Their performance demonstrated teamwork, discipline, confidence, and perseverance.

MHS claims top spots in Throwing Events

August 1, 2026 — During the 2026 Zonal Meet, MHS representatives Dwayne James Torremocha and Kent Lareta secured places in the throwing events with the guidance of their coaches, Sir Ronel Torreta and Ma’am Rudiza Sardido, held at Domingo B. Yana Elementary School (DRYES).

In the javelin throw, Kent Lareta secured second place 🥈 against representatives from PELHS and ZAGMNHS. In the discus throw, Dwayne James Torremocha claimed first place 🥇, defeating representatives from ZAGMNHS and PELHS. In the shot put, Kenta Lareta also earned third place 🥉 .

Meanwhile, in the girls’ throwing category, Chemina Jampit may not have secured a place; however, she gave her best and proudly represented MHS, showing her skills and determination throughout the competition. Although Jampit did not win a medal, her dedication and effort made the school proud. The experience also motivated her to continue training and improve her skills for next year’s school meet. With greater confidence, determination, and preparation, she hopes to return as a stronger and better-trained athlete.

MHS shines in Running Event at Zonal Meet 2026

August 01, 2026 - Mahanay High School athletes delivered a strong performance in the running events of the Zonal Meet 2026, showcasing speed, determination, and sportsmanship. Guided by coaches Sir Ronel Torreta and Ma’am Rudiza Sardido, and supported by their schoolmates and fellow athletes, the competitors performed with confidence.

Among the notable results, Harold Horolan emerged as champion 🥇in the boys’ 200-meter dash, while Kent Raizo claimed the championship 🥇in the boys’ 3,000-meter run. Niel Adam Palma placed second 🥈in the boys’ 100-meter dash, while Jan Rhea Lupar earned second place 🥈in the girls’ 100-meter dash. Aj Jhan Torreon also finished second 🥈in the boys’ 5,000-meter run. Other athletes who secured podium finishes included Amit Ejay, Blanch Meagan Torrefiel, Archie Torrefiel, and Shassen Añabieza.

Despite the challenges, the athletes gave their best and proudly represented Mahanay High School. Their achievements reflect hard work, discipline, and the determination to improve.
