November 14, 2025 - The English Department, headed by Ma'am Sairyl Rufino, took part in the Second Portfolio Day, with the Grade 8 English teachers spearheading the department's booth. This event was an excellent opportunity for students to exhibit their work to their parents. We are grateful to our school principal, Sir Dennis Serapio, for his continued support, and to all the learners and parents for ensuring the day was a tremendous success.

This National Reading Month 2025, Talavera National High School, in consonance with DepEd's literacy programs, invites you to embark on countless journeys! Join us in making 'Reading, Connecting People Across Generations in Society' a vibrant reality this November and discover how every page bridges minds and hearts.

This year's celebration will focus on both reading appreciation and the development of core literacy skills across all grade levels. Grade 7 students will join a 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱-𝗔-𝗧𝗵𝗼𝗻 to boost their reading speed; Grade 8 will test their vocabulary in a 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗲𝗲; Grade 9 will show off their word power in a 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗵 competition; and Grade 10 will practice quick thinking with an 𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗰𝗵 contest. The celebration will climax with a spectacular 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, where students dress up as their favorite literary figures, and a 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 for all grade levels across the campus, uniting the entire Talavera National High School community through the shared joy of reading.

To enhance earthquake preparedness and safety, the English department participated in the Third Quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill, practicing this crucial safety procedure to ensure students and staff are ready for a seismic event.
