The Computer Engineering Program successfully conducted a community extension activity titled “Fundamentals of Software Use and Installation” at Computer Laboratory, UM Visayan Campus with the Barangay Magugpo South residents, barangay officials, and staff.

The training aimed to strengthen digital literacy by equipping participants with essential knowledge and practical skills in software installation and use, enabling them to become more confident and efficient in today’s technology-driven environment.

The activity was facilitated by resource speakers Engr. Adel Monette Rivera and Engr. Louie Marisse Delideli, who generously shared their expertise and guided participants throughout the sessions.

Faculty members and student officers also played an important role in the success of the event, providing assistance in coordination, preparation, and implementation.

Through this initiative, the Computer Engineering Program continues its commitment to community development by promoting lifelong learning and sharing technical expertise with local stakeholders.

The initiative was spearheaded by the Computer Engineering Program Faculty and facilitated by the Associated Council of Computer Engineering Students (ACCES), which hand in hand organizing and implementing the event from planning to ex*****on.

Please be informed that the second day of Engineering Festival 2026 has been rescheduled. Instead of Friday April 17, all Day 2 activities will now take place on 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟖.

In light of the worsening fuel crisis resulting in increasing transportation costs, the University of Mindanao will temporarily shift to a𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 from 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟮𝟮, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿).

This applies to all programs across all levels, including both Main and Branch campuses.

This temporary shift aims to provide relief to students and families by helping reduce expenses, while also contributing to fuel and energy conservation during this challenging time.

We encourage everyone to remain updated through official university communication channels for 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗴𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.
