HAND FLAPPING
This sensory signal is often misunderstood. Flapping of the hands is often a sensory anchor, which is calming and regulating to the brain. Doing this provides proprioception to the arms and hands, which is typically organizing and soothing for the nervous system. Take note if your child does this more often in new and unfamiliar settings or in challenging multi-sensory situations.

As part of their social skills and self-development, students from Special Education (SPED) Program have successfully participated in different fund-raising activities of the school such as UN Celebration last October and the recently concluded King and Queen of Hearts where in one of our ASD students was hailed as the King of Hearts 2023.
Teachers as well as the parents watched with pride as the students walked down the aisle successfully. It's not always easy for them, but with determination, and support, they continue to amaze everyone with their progress.
As for the parents, it's moments like these that make all the tough days' worth it. This also serves as a reminder to everyone that learners with disabilities are capable of achieving greatness and should be celebrated for their unique strengths.
