In a close encounter with nature, Marians finally set foot on Hijo Forest to commence the City Nature Challenge 2026, this April 24. RVM sisters, Non-teaching personnel and students sported their cellphones, documenting the beautiful flora and fauna of the area—truly a scenery you do not see everyday!

For the rest of the four-day event, more batches of Marians are primed to experience this exceptional nature-encounter themselves. The fun is just beginning!

Tagum City marked a significant step toward environmental awareness as it officially launched City Nature Challenge 2026, inviting students, educators, youth organizations, and local communities to explore and document the city’s rich biodiversity on April 24 to 27.

In line with this, Saint Mary’s College of Tagum, Inc. participates in this event armed with curiosity, and a shared mission to document biodiversity. The participants immersed themselves in the natural landscape, identifying various species of flora and fauna. This initiative not only highlighted the richness of Tagum’s ecosystems but also strengthened the students’ role as advocates for environmental awareness and conservation.

As Tagum City opens its doors to this global movement, the City Nature Challenge serves as a reminder that conservation begins at the local level. By empowering citizens to become stewards of nature, the city sets a strong foundation for future environmental programs and initiatives. This first step not only celebrates biodiversity but also calls for continued action in protecting and preserving the environment for generations to come.

The blue bus is fueled and ready to bring Marian students, teaching and non-teaching personnel, and administrators to 𝗛𝗶𝗷𝗼 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 this 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟰, 𝟮𝟱, and 𝟮𝟳 to participate in the 𝗖𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 (𝗖𝗡𝗖) 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The CNC is an annual international event participated by the Local Government Unit of Tagum that urges all its citizens to observe and document wild flora and fauna within the city bounds. St. Mary's College of Tagum, Inc., in the same pursuit of raising awareness for and engaging with the environment, is all hands on deck to help bring our city's natural treasures to international recognition!

Ensuring a smooth and adaptive start for this summer class, Saint Mary’s College of Tagum Inc. successfully conducted its Virtual Student Orientation for the Summer Class via Google Meet on April 20.

In response to the ongoing energy crisis affecting the country, SMCTI proactively transitioned from face-to-face classes to an online learning modality. This shift shows the institution’s commitment to student safety, adaptability, and continuing education, even in the face of external challenges.

The orientation also served as a platform for students to familiarize themselves with digital tools, connect with faculty members, and clarify course requirements. Through this initiative, SMCTI maintains its dedication to delivering quality education while responding responsibly to current national concerns.

This Easter Sunday, we celebrate the glorious resurrection of Jesus Christ—the Light of the world and the giver of eternal Life.

As our Savior, He shines upon us, illuminating the path of righteousness and dispelling the shadows of despair. We marvel at the divine paradox of His sacrifice: He took upon Himself the heavy burden of our sins so that our path could be light and easy to follow, making our salvation a gift of grace we can truly bear.

Because He lives, we embrace a new Life. It is a life of joy, redeemed by His blood and sustained by His grace. As Marianistas, let us honor this gift by continuing to serve God with fervor and spreading His Holy Gospels to every corner of the world.

Let us rejoice and fill this day with prayer, for the tomb is empty and our hope is renewed!
