The 𝗨𝗦𝗲𝗣 𝗦𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 proudly participated in the Club Day during the Day 2 of LUPAD 2025 at the University of Southeastern Philippines – Tagum Unit. The booth was filled with laughter and excitement as activities such as Sign Language Game were held, giving students the opportunity to learn basic sign language. Moreover, the event gave students the chance to explore and be part of clubs that align with their interests and passions.

As the new academic year begins, fresh faces step up to lead. Meet the passionate and dedicated newly elected officers of the 𝗨𝗦𝗲𝗣 𝗦𝗽𝗘𝗱 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀.

Today, we celebrate not only your academic achievement but also your dedicated service as former officers of the USeP SpEd Advocates (USAd). Through your selfless service, compassionate leadership, and strong advocacy for special education, you have touched hearts and helped shape a more inclusive and empowered community.

As you step beyond the gates of our university, carry with you the spirit of USAd — a spirit rooted in empathy, purpose, and the courage to speak up for those whose voices are often unheard. You have been champions of inclusion, role models, and true advocates of change.

Ngayong araw ay isang mahalagang pagkakataon upang kilalanin at bigyang-pugay ang bawat manggagawang Pilipino.
Mula sa bukirin hanggang sa mga pabrika, mula sa mga opisina hanggang sa mga ospital — ang kanilang pawis at sakripisyo ang pundasyong kinatatayuan ng ating kasalukuyan at kinabukasan.

Ang ating bansa ay naitayo, patuloy na itinatayo, at higit pang uunlad dahil sa kanilang walang sawang pagpupunyagi. Sa araw na ito, atin silang ipagbunyi at pasalamatan. Sa bawat patak ng pawis at sa bawat pagod na hindi sumusuko, nakatayo ang matatag na pag-asa ng bayan. Hindi matitinag ang inyong dedikasyon at pagmamahal sa trabaho at pamilya. Maliit man o malaki ang papel na ginagampanan — kayo ang tunay na bayani sa araw-araw. Maraming salamat sa inyong sakripisyo at tapang. Mabuhay ang manggagawang Pilipino — karapat-dapat kayong parangalan araw-araw!

Is a global initiative that promotes understanding, acceptance, and support for individuals on the autism spectrum.

This special day reminds us to break down harmful stereotypes, celebrate neurodiversity, and create inclusive spaces where everyone feels seen and valued.

𝐖𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧

𝐁𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐭. 𝐤𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐒𝐍𝐄𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Spearheaded by the Organization of Future Special Education Teachers (OFSET) Local Council and USeP SPEd Advocates (USAd) Officers, the Bachelor of Special Needs Education (BSNEd) Program launched this year’s SNEd Fest on April 4, at the Farmer’s Training Center (FTC) Hall. Taking inspiration from J.K. Rowling’s famous fantasy novel entitled Harry Potter, the festivity was themed “Wizards of Inclusion: Unlocking Abilities, Enchanting Ambitious Minds”, and the program was divided into four Hogwarts Houses named the Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin.

BSNEd Faculty, OFSET and USAd Adviser Ms. Ariane Ray O. Garcia revealed in her welcoming message that she is an avid fan of the series since its release. Even as an adult, it is still appealing to her, realizing that the experiences of the novel hero resemble people with special needs.

Moreover, Kristine Karla G. Bouffard, LPT, RPm discussed the functions of behavior and the tips in handling its underlying issues—an instrumental insight in the BSNEd curriculum. The forum was then followed by the message of encouragement from the Program Head Dr. Leonila M. Fajardo through BSNEd Faculty Ms. Multibie B. Cantila stating, “When we ignite our belief in the magic within each child, we don’t merely teach. We empower them to craft their own destinies.”

Demonstrating their respective prowess and purpose, the four houses competed in various games, variety show, and in the Mr. and Ms. SNEd Fest 2025 pageant. The Ravenclaw proved their wit and wisdom as they dominated all events, with their contender Maria Kaeceline Getes hailed as the Ms. SNEd, alongside Alexander Cajes from Hufflepuff as the Mr. SNEd.

More than a gathering, the SNEd Fest—originally called the Inclusive Day which was held first last year—is the program’s continued pursuit for an inclusive education and a safe environment for all diverse learners.

The date being the 21𝙨𝙩 𝙙𝙖𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 3𝙧𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙝 was chosen to represent the triplication (trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down Syndrome.

The USeP SpEd Advocates join the celebration of the 2025 𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐖𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐍'𝐒 𝐌𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐇 with the sub-theme “𝑩𝒂𝒃𝒂𝒆 𝒔𝒂 𝑳𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒆𝒌𝒕𝒐𝒓, 𝑨𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑩𝒖𝒌𝒂𝒔 𝒔𝒂 𝑩𝒂𝒈𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝑷𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒔."

This month, let's honor the strength, intelligence, and unyielding determination of women all around the world.
