𝑯𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑳𝑰𝑮𝑯𝑻𝑺 | 7𝐓𝐇 𝐍𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐍𝐀 𝐌𝐀𝐒𝐒
The seminary community gathered in prayer for the solemn celebration of the Seventh Novena Mass in honor of Mary, Queen of the Apostles, presided over by Rev. Fr. Arnold Tiplaca at Queen of Apostles College Seminary. The celebration brought together seminarians, formators, faculty, and members of the local faithful in a spirit of prayer, communion, and devotion to Mary, Queen of the Apostles.

In his meaningful homily, Fr. Tiplaca reflected on the mystery of God’s call to the priesthood, emphasizing the words, “Many are called, but few are chosen.” He reminded the seminarians that hearing God’s call is only the beginning of the vocational journey. To truly respond to that call requires a willing heart, perseverance, and a sincere commitment to follow Christ.

Fr. Tiplaca highlighted that the vocation to priesthood requires constant self-denial. Being called to the seminary does not mean seeking comfort, recognition, or personal fulfillment, but learning to surrender one’s own desires for the sake of God’s will. The journey toward priesthood demands sacrifice, discipline, humility, and the daily decision to die to oneself in order to live more fully for Christ and His people.

He further reminded the seminarians that responding to God’s call is not always easy. There will be moments of struggle, temptation, doubt, and difficulty that will test one’s commitment to the vocation. Yet, these challenges become opportunities to deepen one’s trust in God and to grow in holiness. The seminarian is therefore called to remain faithful, persevering in prayer and formation while continually allowing God to shape his heart according to His will.

This spirit of faithful self-giving is beautifully reflected in Mary, Queen of the Apostles, who responded to God’s invitation with her wholehearted “yes.” She did not cling to her own plans but surrendered herself completely to God’s purpose. Through her example, seminarians are reminded that vocation is ultimately a call to give oneself generously to the Lord, embracing whatever sacrifices are necessary in order to fulfill the mission entrusted by Him.

As the community continues its Novena, Fr. Tiplaca’s message invites the seminarians to take seriously the demands of the priestly vocation: many may be called, but few are chosen to persevere faithfully in the path of total self-giving. The journey toward priesthood requires constant self-denial, humility, sacrifice, and an unwavering willingness to follow Christ. The seminary community gathered in prayer for the solemn celebration of the Sixth Novena Mass in honor of Mary, Queen of the Apostles, presided over by Rev. Fr. Leo Cloves Buchan at Queen of Apostles College Seminary. The celebration brought together seminarians, formators, faculty, and members of the local faithful in a spirit of prayer, communion, and devotion to Mary, Queen of the Apostles.

In his meaningful homily, Fr. Buchan reflected on the mystery of God’s call in every vocation. He reminded the seminarians that God calls each person at the right time and in His own way, emphasizing that vocation is not something to be claimed as an entitlement, but a grace entrusted to a person for the service of God and His people.

Fr. Buchan highlighted the importance of stewardship rather than entitlement in vocation, particularly in the journey toward the priesthood. Being called to the seminary or discerning the priestly vocation is not a privilege that makes one deserving of recognition or status. Rather, it is an invitation to receive God’s grace with humility and to faithfully care for the gift of vocation entrusted to us. The priestly vocation, therefore, calls for a heart that is willing to serve, sacrifice, and continually respond to God’s invitation.

He further reminded the seminarians that God’s timing is different from human expectations. There may be moments when we wonder why God has called us at a particular time or why our
vocation unfolds in a certain way. Yet, the proper response is not impatience or comparison, but trust in God’s providence. God knows when and how each vocation should grow, and the task of
a seminarian is to remain faithful, available, and receptive to His will.

This spirit of humble stewardship is beautifully reflected in Mary, the Mother of the seminarians, who received God’s call not as a privilege to possess, but as a mission to embrace. Her “yes” became an offering of her entire life to God. Through her example, seminarians are reminded that vocation is ultimately about giving oneself generously to the Lord and allowing Him to work through one’s life for the good of others.

As the community continues its Novena, Fr. Buchan’s message invites the seminarians to see their vocation not as an entitlement, but as a sacred trust. Called in God’s perfect time and entrusted with a mission greater than themselves, they are encouraged to grow in humility, responsibility, and generosity, faithfully caring for the vocation God has placed in their hands as they journey toward priestly service.

Queen of Apostles College Seminary. The celebration brought together seminarians, formators, faculty, and members of the local faithful in the seminary chapel, becoming a meaningful expression of faith, communion, and shared devotion to Mary, Queen of the Apostles.

In his inspiring homily, Fr. Delos Reyes or mostly known as
“Fr. Boyet” reflected on the importance of letting go of anything that becomes an obstacle to being with God. Drawing from
the Gospel image of entering the Kingdom of God through the narrowness of a needle, he reminded the community that following Jesus requires a heart that is willing to surrender and detach itself from whatever prevents it from fully embracing God’s will.

Fr. Delos Reyes emphasized that discipleship calls for more than simply professing faith—it requires the courage to let go, offer, and entrust oneself completely to God. Like a person who must leave behind what cannot pass through the narrow opening, we are invited to surrender our attachments, anxieties, desires, and anything that keeps us from walking closely with Christ.

This call to surrender is beautifully exemplified by Mary, the Mother of our Lord. In her life, Mary continually demonstrated what it means to offer everything to God and to trust in His plan. Her wholehearted acceptance of God's will teaches the faithful to release their own control and confidently place their lives in the hands of the Lord.

As the community continues its Novena, Fr. Delos Reyes' message serves as a heartfelt reminder that following Jesus requires letting go of what hinders us, offering everything to God, and trusting Him completely. Through Mary's example, the seminarians and the entire community are encouraged to surrender themselves more deeply to God's will, knowing that true freedom and communion with Him begin with a heart willing to let go.

In his inspiring homily, Bishop Manlapaz reflected on the profound love of a mother for her child, drawing from Mary’s example of motherhood and her unwavering love for Jesus.
