Tagum City, Davao Region โ€” In the wake of the recent earthquake that affected several parts of Davao Region, compassion and bayanihan spirit continue to uplift the education community.

At least 50 cartons of essential goods are being distributed to support those affected by the disaster which is made more meaningful through the generous contribution of the Republic Biscuit Corporation (Rebisco), in collaboration between the Department of Education and the private sector who donated assorted biscuits to the learners and teachers of the four Schools Division Offices (Tagum City, Davao del Norte, Mati City, and Davao del Sur).

The donation aims to supplement the nutritional needs of young learnersโ€”particularly those in Kindergarten to Grade 4โ€”by providing nourishing snacks during school days.

In Tagum City, the biscuits have already reached several schools, including two integrated schools: Pandapan and San Agustin; and three elementary schools: New Balamban, Mankilam, and Pagsabangan, which brought not only sustenance but also smiles to the faces of young learners, of whom many are still coping with the emotional and physical toll of the recent calamity.

This timely support addresses immediate hunger, enhances classroom engagement, and contributes to the overall well-being of studentsโ€”especially in areas where access to healthy snacks is limited. While at the same time, teachers also expressed appreciation for the morale boost this support brings to their classrooms.

The Schools Division Offices expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Rebisco for its timely and thoughtful intervention, stressing that this act of generosity exemplifies the power of public-private partnerships in responding to crises and ensuring that no learner or teacher is left behind.

Beyond its commercial success, Rebisco has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to community development through educational support, feeding programs, and partnerships with the Department of Education and various civic organizations.
