IXATES shuttler Benjamin Bugart Odias earns spot in Batang Pinoy 2026 National Games

Ignacio Xavier A. Tuason Elementary School celebrates another athletic milestone as Grade 5 badminton prodigy Benjamin Bugart Odias officially qualified to represent Tagum City in the upcoming Batang Pinoy 2026 National Championships.

Odias punched his ticket to the prestigious national multisport event after delivering stellar performances in Tagum City qualifier matches, earning a spot among the country's top young shuttlers. Bound for the City of Smiles, the national finals, organized by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), will bring thousands of promising athletes under 15 years old to Bacolod City this December 12 to 18, 2026. Known for his quick court coverage, sharp smash placement, and tactical composure under pressure, Odias has been undergoing intensive training to hone his skills ahead of the national stage. "Benjamin has shown tremendous grit and discipline on the court," noted his training coach. "Earning a spot at Batang Pinoy as a Grade 5 student is a huge testament to his hard work, and we are confident he will carry the IXATES spirit proud in Bacolod."

Odias joins a growing roster of student-athletes from IXATES making waves in division and national grassroots sports competitions. The entire school faculty, parents, and fellow students continue to rally behind him as he prepares to smash his way toward national glory later this year.
