Working at height (WAH) has always involved an element of risk, which is why it’s so important that people should properly use ladders safely as well. While COVID-19 is rightly topping the health and safety agenda at the moment, WAH safety remains as important as ever. Therefore, you should always consider these key principles when you are planning for a safe return to using ladders in your workplace.
✅ Personal Hygiene - Always ensure that you wash your hands before touching any equipment and conducting any work.
✅ Equipment Cleaning - All PPE and work tools must be cleaned properly and sanitized to avoid infection everyone at the work site.
✅ Social Distancing - Maintain a safe distance as suggested by company policy to reduce the risk of spreading the infection.
✅ Masks and Gloves - Protect yourself from unnecessary contact with potentially infected surfaces by wearing masks, face shields, and gloves at all times.
✅ Communication - Report to your supervisor or manager if you are feeling unwell or if you noticed your co-workers showing symptoms of infection.
