Today, we remember the bravery and sacrifices of our National Heroes and honor the service of our Modern-Day Heroes.

National Heroes Day was institutionalized through Republic Act No. 9492 (2007), which declared it a regular holiday observed on the last Monday of August. The law recognizes all Filipino heroes, known and ordinary, who contributed to the birth and defense of the Philippines.
