Meet Gwyneth Vera Costillas.

A proud graduate of PSHS Eastern Visayas Campus (Batch 2020, Kulawi), where she was honored as "Pinakamahusay sa Pananaliksik" (Best in Research) and graduated With High Honors. Today, she is a medical student at the UP College of Medicine — carrying forward the same discipline that shaped her Pisay journey.

Her approach to mastery is simple: active recall through flashcards, paired with teaching each concept to someone else — a method that turns knowledge into true understanding.

A PSHS Western Visayas Campus ('98) alumna and Gawad Dabadaba awardee, Dr. Macabebe is a leading voice in renewable tech. Today, she serves as Associate Chair at Ateneo de Manila University, leads its Energy Research Laboratory, and co-founded SolarSolutions, Inc..

Her team combines AI and the Internet of Things (IoT) to build smart energy monitoring systems that make clean power affordable and accessible. Her groundbreaking work earned her the 2020 NAST Outstanding Young Scientist award and a prestigious 2023 Hitachi Asia Innovation Award!
