In line with this roster of achievements, the newshounds express their earnest gratitude to the people behind the phenomenal success encompassing supportive parents, members of the faculty, the heads and coors, the entirety of the english department, and various officials from the school administration most especially the current english school paper adviser Ma'am Reike Alliyah Taladua and the former english school paper adviser of El Compaรฑero, Ma'am Alma U. Almerol.
As moments go by after the awarding day, Cayetanian newshounds remain in full appreciation of this year's bounty for it may be the last bit of memory to carry for the graduating members of the journalism organization.
Though the year was filled with sacrifices which needed not to be boasted about or needed no payment at all, God answered with the priceless prize of leaving a memorable winning moment for every Cayetanian to cherish.

Embracing greener pastures, El Compaรฑero's beloved school paper adviser and English Head Teacher I Ma'am Alma U. Almerol marks her two decades of tenure at the Cayetano Science High School with a special promotion as Head Teacher III to a different institution.
With pride and joy from her colleagues, subordinates, and trainees, the visionary leader accepted her reposition last week to General Ricardo Papa Memorial High School - Main where she is expected to exercise her new duties.
In her decades-long journey, Ma'am Alma was able to transform the newsroom from a bastion of "intimidating authority" to a passion project that didn't just reach, but also "worked with communities" as most of her present editors would describe.
The english school paper she spearheaded was loved by its readers and editors throughout the years for producing stories of success from student excellence to community experiences that inspired many.
Rewarding this evident patronage in the past, Ma'am Alma led not just the school paper but also distinct individuals to the regionals and the nationals for her unparalleled devotion to campus journalism.
Beyond the national schools press conference, she has also produced champions through high-caliber delegations in the Ditto Sarmiento Cup, National Campus Press Olympiad, Best Designed Campus Paper Competition, Teodoro Valencia Cup, and recently, the Word Cup Association of the Philippines.
Yet despite her overflowing awards and credentials, the humble leader is best remembered for never boasting her sacrifices and achievements and for keeping her team grounded and down to earth.
"She owned every room, not because she was loud and scary, but because she was silent, selfless, and kind," said current Editor-in-Chief, Alexis Gonzales.
To many, she might have been a leader to be feared of because of her credentials but to her own organization and her own institution, she was an authentically humble woman who found power in kindness.
As EIC Gonzales recalled, Ma'am Alma would often face her battles with humility, "an ultimate weapon that scared off academic and workplace villains for years."
In her final moments as the school paper adviser of El Compaรฑero, the empowered leader wrote history in helping the school attain its highest placement in the collaborative desktop publishing team (2nd place) during its hardest times where it has been deemed impossible to place for Cayetanians, and similarly she was able to bring back the school paper to the regional stage after placing 9th in the news page category after more than four years of absence.
As she departs from the school organ, Ma'am Alliyah Taladua takes her post as the school paper adviser continuing the legacy built by pure kindness and love that has fueled years of strong beginnings for the institution's long run in the journalism industry.
From holding every individual writer and journalist as her trainee, from supporting every single team the english department had ever sent as delegation, down to slowly dispersing her trainees to various trainers, Ma'am Alma leaves not just an irreplaceable mark but a lasting message to every campus journalist and Cayetanian of this day, that no matter how unseen a victory or an effort can be, kindness will always weigh it greater than anything else in this world.
As what Ma'am alma would often say after every sacrifice or win she ever made with her students and trainees, "be humble."
Short note: The title "๐๐ฒ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐ง๐ผ๐บ๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฟ๐ผ๐" is inspired by Editor-in-Chief Alexis Gonzales' ๐ฆ๐๐๐ข๐ก๐ written editorial article during his 4th year in elementary tackling the duterte drug war during that time, however in this context, the title was used both as a final wish for Ma'am Alma and a special play of fate as the ๐ฆ๐๐๐ข๐ก๐ ๐ ๐ข๐ง๐๐๐ฅ of most Cayetanian journalists finally finds her path towards greater opportunities.
The article combines the views and overall insights of the editorial staff along with the information gathered by the news team.
(pubmat and posting schedule was already in plan since last week, yet it has been hard to find the right words for this goodbye)

Showcasing the schools passion and determination in the field of journalism, two students from Sen. Renato Compaรฑero Cayetano Memorial Science and Technology Highschool (SRCCMSTHS) brought home three awards in the recently conducted 26th Word Cup Philippines National Journalism Conference and Contest held in Tagaytay City last August 29-31, 2025 which was attended by over 600 participants from all around the country.
On their first attempt, Grade 12 students, Alexis Ace Gonzales and Carmen Paras placed on the highest ranks of the podium. Along with the guidance of their trainers, Mr. Judd Lawrence D. Guy-Joco and Mrs. Alma U. Almerol, the journalists marked the schools first victory in the said competition and etched their name in its history as the one and only champions hailing from the National Capital Region (NCR) this year.
Gonzales, the outgoing Editor-in-Chief of the school's campus journalism organization, quinched first place and second place on the news writing and science writing categories, respectively. On the other hand, Paras, the organization's feature editor claimed the first spot in the mobile journalism category.
"Hindi ko inexpect actually kasi editorial pinunta ko, pero worth it ang experience sa inooffer nila na competitions, I met so many new friends and napakasayang experience kasi talagang parang journalist ka na ramdam mo yung pressure takbo here takbo roon," Gonzales said, sharing his experience during the competition.
With the newsroom centering on the inclusivity for senior citizens, the guest speaker from the National Commission of Seniors Citizens (NCSC), Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, called on the youth especially on campus journalists to utilize their platforms to amplify the voices of the elderlies
"We believe that seniors are living libraries of wisdom. The young minds will have to work with those libraries full of wisdom," Loreche stated.
The panel of judges was composed of veteran and high-caliber journalists with experiences in known Filipino and international news outlets such as Philippine Star, Philippine Daily Inquirer, Sciencedev.net, and others. Participants were also given the opportunity to join at most three categories, with the writing and mobile journalism category being given a one-hour and five-hour time limit, respectively.
Through the leadership and unwavering support of our school administration headed by our OIC-Principal, Dr. Arturo A. Tolentino and Assistant Principal II, Mr. Rian A. Loriega, this success won't be possible.
The student-journalists extend their appreciation and admiration for the all-out support of their beloved parents, teachers, and friends in joining such a prestigious competition.
Moreover, the school remains ever grateful to the Division of Taguig City and Pateros for giving the opportunity to enhance the journalistic skills of these students.
This journey has been filled with passion and dedication all throughout.
