Indie-Siyensya is the first science filmmaking competition organized by the Department of Science and Technology - Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) to bring science closer to the youth and the general public through film.

LOOK | 𝟭𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗲-𝗦𝗶𝘆𝗲𝗻𝘀𝘆𝗮 𝗕𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗝𝘂𝗱𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗲 𝗟𝘆𝗻𝗻 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗗𝘂𝗽𝗼 and 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗦𝗲𝘆𝗺𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘇 served as resource speakers in the 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 held last 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟴 at 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆.

𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗗𝘂𝗽𝗼 delivered a lecture about human-centered science storytelling, where she had given examples of the difference between science communication and communicating sciences, with the former making a complex concept more relatable and human-centered for better understanding.

Meanwhile, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘇 has talked about the ways on how can young science communicators convey the message to the people through making documentaries, utlizing various filmmaking techniques and styles suitable for the stories they want to tell.

As part of the DOST-MIMAROPA Regional Science, Technology, and Innovation Week (RSTW), the Science Communication Workshop enables the youth to become future science communicators through filmmaking and storytelling.

Thank you to everyone who joined us during the 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 held last August 18 at Palawan State University, as part of the 𝗗𝗢𝗦𝗧-𝗠𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗔 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲, 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 (𝗥𝗦𝗧𝗪).
