It was created way back in the year 2001 with the desire to start a parochial school which aims to provide the students a system of education where mental, physical, moral and spiritual formation are integrated into one. And just like any other educational institutions, the school had its own fair share of birth pangs. But, she learned to face the challenges posed by the demands in forming the young minds of her students. Yet much work is to be done, as opportunities are so wide in accomplishing the on-going integral formation that the school desires. So in order to carry out this objective, we need the utmost support and cooperation of all parents and guardians whom we consider as partners in the task of molding the students. order to guide both parents and students in setting an atmosphere necessary for a meaningful pursuit of knowledge and to bring about better understanding between the home and the school. as the core of the curriculum. TIPAS CATHOLIC SCHOOL HISTORICAL BACKGROUND
Tipas Catholic School, better known as TCS, is under the jurisdiction of the Diocese of Pasig under the leadership of His Excellency, Most Rev. Mylo Hubert C. Vergara, D.D. TCS is a member of the Manila Archdiocesan and Parochial Schools Association (MAPSA), Pasig Diocesan School System (PaDSS) and last year October 2018 became a new member of Catholic Education Association of the Philippines (CEAP). It is a non-stock, non-profit co-educational sectarian school established on June 1, 2001 at Tipas, Taguig City. Initially, the name Dambanang Kawayan Child Learning Center was adopted because it offered mainly learning experiences for preschool children. It started formally on June 1, 2001 with the three levels of the preschool. (Nursery, Kindergarten and Preparatory)
It was with the great enthusiasm of the founder Rev. Fr. Orlando B. Cantillon that the school was established. It was on August 15, 2000 that he sought the help of the director of Pateros Catholic School, Msgr. Rolando dela Cruz and appointed its principal, Miss Angelina L. Esguerra to supervise the school’s academic program. The TCS became the outreach school of Pateros Catholic School. With the joint effort of the people involved in the newborn school, the hiring of a qualified teacher was one of the top priorities. Mrs. Jean A. Mata was part of the school’s history. She was the first qualified teacher and was able to help the school in encouraging parents to enroll their children in the school. A house-to-house campaign was done and a free tutorial service in reading was one of the services rendered that paved the increase of the school enrolment. As a requirement of the Phil. educational laws, the school was incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission on November 9, 2004 with registry number CN2004 17776. It was in the year 2004 that the school was officially named Tipas Catholic School, thus, the opening of the grade school department in June 2004. The TCS is inspired by the charisms and virtues of St. John the Baptist, her patron saint. His virtues of truthfulness, simplicity and humble service are being emulated and maintained to serve the whole community. Tipas Catholic School is an arm of the church for evangelization. All major policies and decisions governing the school are coursed through the Board of Trustees (BOT).
