EMPOWERING SCHOOLS THROUGH STRONGER LEARNING RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
The Schools Division Office of Taguig City and Pateros successfully conducted the Capacity Building for Enhanced Learning Resource Management on December 10, 2025 at the SDO Conference Hall, bringing together School Learning Resource Coordinators and Teacher-Librarians for a day of enriched learning and professional growth.
Organized by the Learning Resource Management Section under Dr. Daisy L. Mataac and supported by the Curriculum Implementation Division Chief, Dr. Ellery G. Quintia, the activity reaffirmed the division’s strong commitment to elevating the quality, accessibility, and systematic management of learning resources across all schools.
The sessions were strengthened by respected experts: Joseph B. Son provided key insights on School Library Collection Management; Carl Edison Poblador presented practical strategies through his topics Navigating Learning Resources From Stress to Success and Strengthened Learning Resource Inventory; and invited speaker Ms. Evelyn B. Morante from SDO Pasig City shared valuable practices on Learning Resource Excellence, Processes, Pedagogical Impact, and the LRMDS Framework.
The one day activity deepened participants’ understanding of essential learning resource processes and inspired them to adopt more responsive, organized, and quality driven systems within their schools. With renewed dedication and enhanced competencies, learning resource coordinators and teacher-librarians are now better equipped to support teachers, strengthen instructional delivery, and ensure that every learner has access to relevant and effective materials.
The event stands as a testament to SDO TaPat’s continuing commitment to advance educational excellence and empower school communities through well managed learning resources.

Drawing the Future: SDO TaPat Teacher-Illustrators Elevate ALS Learning Resources
From December 4 to 6, 2025, the Learning Resource Management Section in collaboration with the Alternative Learning System of the Curriculum Implementation Division successfully conducted a three-day Capacity Building Workshop on Instructional Illustration for ALS Learning Resources at the SDO Conference Hall. The workshop brought together teacher-illustrators eager to strengthen their skills in creating illustrations that make learning more engaging, inclusive, and meaningful for ALS learners.
Guided by expert speakers, including Melanie D. Gatanela of Silangan Elementary School, Camille Jewel L. Garcia of EM’s Signal Village Elementary School, Jamilah M. Alih of Maharlika Integrated School, Eujan Ruflyn Alice G. Abracia of Kapt. Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School, Jerome B. Lozada of CP Tinga Elementary School, and Vanessa Loise T. Gacad of Napindan Integrated School, participants explored hands-on exercises, practical techniques, and creative approaches to illustration. The workshop emphasized that “The line you draw today shapes the learner’s perspective tomorrow,” highlighting the lasting impact of thoughtful and well-crafted visuals in ALS instructional resources.
Throughout the workshop, teacher-illustrators practiced creating illustrations, received guidance from experts, and discussed ways to ensure their work supports diverse learners. Collaboration, creativity, and cultural relevance were central to the sessions, equipping participants with skills that can be applied to enhance the learning experience for ALS students.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Carl Edison Poblador, proponent of the workshop, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Cynthia L. Ayles, Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Arturo A. Tolentino, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent; Dr. Ellery G. Quintia, CID Chief; Dr. Daisy L. Mataac, EPS - LRMS & ALS; school heads; and all participating teacher-illustrators. He emphasized that the success of the workshop reflects the shared dedication of educators and stakeholders to provide high-quality, creative, and learner-centered ALS resources.
The three-day workshop successfully reaffirmed the commitment of the Learning Resource Management Section to empower teacher-illustrators, enhance instructional illustrations, and enrich the learning journey of ALS learners in SDO Taguig and Pateros. Through initiatives like this, ALS education continues to evolve, ensuring that every learner has the support, inspiration, and tools needed to achieve their full potential.

TEACHERS IGNITE A CREATIVE REVOLUTION AS SDO TAGUIG CITY AND PATEROS HONOR GAWAD TEODORA ALONSO 2025 CHAMPIONS
Pateros National High School became a hub of creativity and inspiration as the Schools Division of Taguig City and Pateros held the Division Awarding Ceremony of the Gawad Teodora Alonso 2025, themed Celebrating Excellence in Storybook Writing. The event gathered Public Schools District Supervisors, Education Program Supervisors, selected school heads, members of the Screening Committee, and the division’s most passionate story creators - teacher-writers and teacher-illustrators whose works are shaping the reading experiences of learners across the division.
Certificates and plaques were awarded to the Top 5 Manuscript Writers, Top 5 Storybook Illustrators, and Top 5 Storybook Packages. Entries spanned a variety of meaningful categories including Chapter Books for Young Adults, Wordless Storybooks for Inclusion, Gender and Development, Disaster Risk Reduction Management, and Local Tangibles.
Every participant received a Certificate of Participation in recognition of their dedication, artistry, and commitment to producing high-quality learning materials.
The schools with the most entries and their school heads were: Maharlika Integrated School led by Dr. Romeo O. Olalo, Taguig Integrated School under Dr. Cipriano M. Bisco Jr., Upper Bicutan Elementary School led by Dr. Marites A. Asuque, Ususan Elementary School under Mr. Leonardo A. Eboña Jr., and Kapt. Eddie T. Reyes Integrated School led by Dr. Gina R. Poblete. Their collective contributions reflect the energy and creativity thriving in the division.
This year’s success was made possible under the visionary leadership of Schools Division Superintendent Cynthia L. Ayles, CESO V, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Arturo A. Tolentino, and CID Chief Education Supervisor Dr. Ellery G. Quintia. Their support continues to inspire programs that nurture creativity, innovation, and excellence in teaching and learning resources.
Special recognition was extended by Dr. Daisy L. Mataac, Education Program Supervisor for LRMS, and Mr. Carl Edison G. Poblador, Division Focal for the Gawad Teodora Alonso Storybook Writing Competition, to the Local Government Unit of Taguig City under Hon. Maria Laarni L. Cayetano, represented by Councilor Marisse Balina- Eron who delivered the Mayor’s message. The Municipality of Pateros, led by Hon. Gerald S. German, also graced the event, reaffirming their support for education. Appreciation was likewise given to PSDS Dr. Rayand C. Saballe of Cluster 10, host school headed by Dr. Reynaldo A. Nama, and the entire Program Management Team whose dedication ensured the success of the celebration.
The Gawad Teodora Alonso 2025 is more than an awarding ceremony. It is a testament to the vision, talent, and heart of teachers who bring stories to life. Through their words and illustrations, they spark curiosity, build values, and ignite the dreams of learners. Their creative brilliance has set a new standard in storybook writing and continues to inspire the next generation of readers and storytellers.

167 Entries, Tampok sa 7th Gawad Teodora Alonso 2025 Storybook Writing Competition
Sa ika-7 Edisyon ng Gawad Teodora Alonso 2025 Storybook Writing Competition, umabot sa 167 ang mga kalahok mula sa mga g**o ng iba’t ibang paaralan sa ating dibisyon. Ang mga kalahok ay nagtagisan ng galing upang hirangin bilang kinatawan ng dibisyon sa nalalapit na Regional Contest.
Lubos na ipinapaabot ang pasasalamat sa mga hurado na kinabibilangan ng ilan sa ating Public Schools District Supervisors, Education Program Supervisors, IT Officer, Education Program Specialists, at PDO II–DRRM, sa kanilang inilaang oras at bukas-palad na pagbabahagi ng kanilang kaalaman at kahusayan.
Ang matagumpay na pagsasakatuparan ng programang ito ay bunga ng walang sawang suporta ng ating Schools Division Superintendent, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, at Hepe ng Curriculum Implementation Division.
Ang Learning Resource Management Section, sa pamumuno ng EPS Dr. Daisy L. Mataac, kasama ang Division Focal ng Storybook Competition na si G. Carl Edison G. Poblador, ay taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng punong-g**o at g**o na naging katuwang sa tagumpay ng kompetisyong ito.
Naitransmit na sa Regional Office ang ating mga Regional Qualifiers at buong puso nating ipinagdarasal ang kanilang tagumpay - sapagkat ang kanilang panalo ay panalo ng buong Dibisyon ng Taguig City at Pateros.
