Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 20, 2026:

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes and learning continuity measures at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Metro Manila, including Taguig City, is now under Red Heavy Rainfall Warning as persistent rain continues to affect the city. Moderate to heavy rains, occasionally intense, are expected within the next three hours.

Intense rain may trigger serious flooding across several parts of the city, including residential areas and major roads.

Some barangays may be placed under evacuation or flood watch.

Thereโ€™s also a higher risk of landslides in elevated areas or slopes.

Severe flooding is likely in multiple areas, including residential zones, major roads, and low-lying communities.

Early relocation to safer ground is highly encouraged for areas with a history of flooding or landslides.
