Barkada Kontra Droga: Drug Awareness Campaign
In Partnership with the Department of Health – Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Bicutan
On March 6, 2026, a Drug Awareness Campaign under the program Barkada Kontra Droga was successfully conducted at the MRTHS Cyberlab in partnership with the Department of Health – Treatment and Rehabilitation Center Bicutan. The activity was attended by Grade 10 students, faculty members, and selected school personnel.

The program aimed to raise awareness among students about the dangers of illegal drugs, their harmful effects on physical and mental health, and the importance of making responsible and informed decisions. The invited speakers from the Department of Health shared valuable information about common substances of abuse, their ill effects, and the possible consequences of drug involvement on individuals, families, and communities.

During the session, the resource speakers also discussed prevention strategies, emphasizing the role of the youth in promoting a drug-free lifestyle. Interactive discussions and question-and-answer portions encouraged the students to actively participate and express their thoughts regarding drug-related issues affecting young people today.

The activity served as a meaningful platform for students to become more informed and empowered to resist peer pressure and avoid substance abuse. Through this campaign, the school strengthened its commitment to fostering a safe, healthy, and drug-free environment for learners.

The Barkada Kontra Droga Drug Awareness Campaign was a successful and informative event that reinforced the importance of collaboration between the school and health institutions in educating the youth and safeguarding their future.

The Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) of Maria Asuncion Rodriguez Tiñga High School invites all interested students who are willing to serve, lead, and become role models to participate in the upcoming BKD Club Election.

This is an opportunity for students who have the passion to serve and the commitment to help maintain a safe, disciplined, and drug-free school community. Through this election, we will be able to choose student leaders who will actively promote awareness and strengthen the advocacy against illegal drugs among the youth.

We encourage everyone to take part in this meaningful activity whether as voters or aspiring leaders because every voice and every vote plays an important role in shaping a better future for our school and community.

𝘽𝙆𝘿 𝙎𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙃𝙤𝙨𝙩𝙨 “𝙏𝘼𝙂𝙐𝙄𝙂 𝙔𝙊𝙐𝙏𝙃 𝙎.𝙏.𝙊.𝙋.” 𝙞𝙣 𝙋𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙏𝘼𝘿𝘼𝘾!

The Barkada Kontra Droga Club (BKD), in partnership with the Taguig Anti-Drug Abuse Council (TADAC), successfully held an event under the theme “TAGUIG YOUTH S.T.O.P. (Stand Together on Preventing the Use of Illegal Drugs)” yesterday, December 04, 2025. This program aimed to raise awareness among the youth about the dangers of illegal drug use.

A heartfelt thank you goes to our Dear Principal, Sir Jose Mark Peniero Bolivar , and our Teacher-in-Charge, Assistant Principal School II, Ma’am Gladys Xziera Ramos, for their unwavering support this event would not have been possible without you.

We also express our gratitude to the new Head Teacher III of the MAPEH Department, Ma’am Elarine Flores-Lista , for sharing such an inspiring message with the Marthians.

Our deepest thanks go to our guest speaker, who generously shared their knowledge and insights with the youth. Your guidance has made a meaningful impact on this program.

To our dear Marthians, thank you for your active participation, you truly made this event a success!

We also extend our appreciation to our dedicated BKD Adviser, Sir John Paul Ludovice, for guiding us throughout this program.

Lastly, we sincerely thank Mayor Maria Laarni “Lani” Cayetano and the local government of Taguig for their continuous support in improving the lives of the youth and for always supporting programs like this.
