EVERYDAY SLAY! πŸ»πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ

In line with the celebration of Pride Month 2023, we, the Science Club Family, are hoping that everyone is loud and proud of who they truly are.

This month should not only be as simple as just commemorating all the individuals making up the LGBTQIA+ community, but also to support them in fighting for their rights and to help stop the hate and stigma relating to it.
From then up to the present, we should promote and protect everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identification, or expression fight for pride.

"Shade never made anybody less gay" so with all colors of the rainbow, slay! πŸ’«βœ¨

The Day of Valor, formally known as Araw ng Kagitingan, is a Philippine national holiday. We commemorate the fallen heroes of the Bataan Death March, eighty (80) years ago. It was on April 9, 1942, when the Filipino and the American troops surrendered to the Japanese soldiers.

February is National Cancer Prevention Month. πŸŽ—πŸŽ—

Cancer is a disease caused when cells divide uncontrollably and spread into surrounding tissues. Cancer is caused by certain changes to genes, the basic physical units of inheritance.

Is cancer curable?

Whether a person's cancer can be cured depends on the type and stage of the cancer, the type of treatment they can get, and other factors. Some cancers are more likely to be cured than others. But each cancer needs to be treated differently. There isn't one cure for cancer.

There are 3 ways to cure cancer:

Surgery: An operation where doctors cut out tissue with cancer cells.
Chemotherapy: Special medicines that shrink or kill cancer cells.
Radiation therapy: Using high-energy rays (similar to X-rays) to kill cancer cells.

But we can prevent and reduce the risk of cancer. How? Here are some ways to reduce the risk of cancer.

And always remember that "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning to dance in the rain."

Trivia time!

Because it's the month of February...

"Bakit kapag nakikita ko sya, hindi ko mapigilang mapangiti?"

"Bakit excited akong makita sya araw-araw na parang ayoko nang umabsent?"

"Bakit ang saya ko, kapag nasa paligid lang sya?"

Did you know?

You feel excited and happy when you see your crush because your dopamine levels instantly increase when you see him or her. According to Dr. Scott Carroll, a psychiatrist and author, your dopamine levels increase when you detect something desirable in your environment. Moreover, dopamine is the first neurotransmitter to respond after seeing an attractive person.

In addition, if you are wondering why you can't take your eyes off your crush and feel anxious whenever he or she is around, it is because of an increase in your norepinephrine levels, which further focus you and make you nervous or cautious.
