PHS Team Secures Silver in 1st Philippine Nihongo Quiz Bee

Kim Emerald Bautista of Grade 10 -Luna and Keisha Venice Codamos of Grade 10- Jacinto clinched the 2nd place out of 20 schools all over Luzon in the 1st Philippine Nihongo Quiz Bee for Junior High Schools on March 15, 2026 at Nihongo Center Foundation, Inc. R. Papa, Sampaloc, Manila, which was organized by Association of Filipino Nihongo Teachers in celebration of the 70th anniversary of Philippine-Japan Friendship.

San Pedro Relocation National High School (Laguna) bagged the champion spot while Sitero Francisco National High School (Valenzuela City) got the 3rd place.

The winning students were awarded with Japanese Language Scholarship from Nihongo Center Foundation, Inc. as prize.

Ms. Charry Sarmiento mentored the victorious team.

Special Program in Foreign Language

PHS Nihongo Rep Advances to Reg'l Festival of Talents

Kim Emerald Bautista of 10 -Luna who portrayed Daki from the Demon Slayer in the Division Festival of Talents Foreign Language Exposition clinchéd the champion spot which made her the regional representative held at Makati Science High School last December 10.

Meanwhile, Makati Science High School and R. Papa Memorial High School won 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

On the other hand, Keisha Venice Codamos of 10- Jacinto secured 3rd place in Foreign Language Composition; R. Papa Memorial High School and Makati Science High School got the 2nd and 3rd places.

Ms. Charry Sarmiento from Araling Panlipunan Department trained the 2 Nihongojins.
