𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮-𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲

In line with its commitment to environmental protection and community involvement, the Young Earth Savers’ Society (YESS), in collaboration with the English Ambassadors of Language and Literature Society (EALLTS) and the Barangay officials of Pudoc West led by Hon. Laymar Lorena, conducted a Coastal Clean-Up Drive on March 7, 2026, as part of its environmental extension initiative.

Carrying the theme “𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮-𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴𝘂𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲,” the activity gathered student volunteers and members of the community to work together in cleaning the coastal areas of Pudoc West, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur.

The coastal clean-up aimed not only to help restore and protect the coastal environment but also to raise awareness among participants about the importance of responsible environmental practices. Through this initiative, students and community members were able to reflect on the impact of human activities on nature and the collective responsibility to preserve it for future generations.

The Young Earth Savers’ Society (YESS) extends its heartfelt gratitude to the following partners who made this activity possible:

The Tagudin Local Government Unit (LGU) for providing transportation from Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College to Pudoc West, ensuring the safe and convenient travel of the volunteers.

Barangay Pudoc West, especially Hon. Laymar Lorena, together with the barangay officials, parents, guardians, and residents for their warm welcome and support in making the activity successful.

The English Ambassadors of Language and Literature Society (EALLTS) for their valuable collaboration and participation in the environmental initiative.

Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College (ISPSC) for its continuous support to student-led environmental programs and community engagement activities.

The YESS Officers and Members, together with the organization’s adviser, Mr. Larry Mostoles, for their dedication, teamwork, and commitment in promoting environmental responsibility within the campus and the community.

Through activities like this, YESS continues to encourage students and community members to take part in protecting the environment, proving that small collective actions can lead to meaningful and lasting change for our planet.

𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱: 𝗬𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀’ 𝗢𝗮𝘁𝗵 𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘆

The newly elected officers of the Young Earth Savers’ Society (YESS) formally took their oath of office on January 19, 2026, held at the Office of the Campus Director, Dr. Daniel Juan B. Ramirez, at ISPSC Tagudin Campus.

The oath-taking ceremony marked the official beginning of the officers’ leadership and commitment to serve the organization and the campus community. Through this ceremony, the officers pledged to uphold the mission and objectives of YESS in promoting environmental awareness, sustainability, and active student participation in protecting and preserving the environment.

The Young Earth Savers’ Society (YESS) extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Daniel Juan B. Ramirez, Campus Director, for administering the oath and for his continued support to student organizations and environmental initiatives within the campus.

The ceremony symbolized not only the assumption of responsibilities by the newly elected officers but also their dedication to lead meaningful activities and programs that encourage environmental stewardship among students.

With their oath, the new set of YESS officers embarks on a journey of leadership, service, and commitment—working together to inspire the campus community to care for and protect our planet.

When Albay Calls, The Nation Acts. 𝟭𝟯𝟬+ 𝗢𝗿𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘇𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝘂𝘇𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗼 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗟𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻.

Last January 22, the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 visited evacuation sites following the heightened activity of Mt. Mayon. Hundreds of families have been displaced, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘀 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘂𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝟰𝟬𝟬 𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗻. Afraid. Confused. In urgent need of care, safety, and hope. They need us.
