Libtong IS Young Journalists Shine at 2026 Division Schools Press Conference
SANTA MARIA, ILOCOS SUR — Three young campus journalists from Libtong Integrated School (LIS) emerged among the top performers in the recently concluded 2026 Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC) held at Santa Maria National High School, Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, September 12–14, 2026.
Leading the LIS elementary journalists was Steffanie Bless A. Barnachea, who clinched 1st Place in Editorial Writing – Filipino, under the guidance of her coach, Mrs. Rowena L. Estrada.
Following her was Alaiza Joy N. Santos, who secured 2nd Place in Feature Writing – Filipino, coached by Mrs. Lailani L. Cruz.
Meanwhile, Janine Roj G. Galdones captured 3rd Place in Sports Writing – Filipino, with Mrs. Geraldine C. Tavas as her coach.
Their impressive finishes earned all three young journalists the opportunity to represent the Schools Division of Ilocos Sur in the upcoming 2026 Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC).
The victories reflect the learners’ dedication, creativity, and determination to excel in campus journalism. Their success also highlights the commitment of their coaches and the continued support of the Libtong Integrated School community in developing learners’ communication, writing, and critical-thinking skills.
The LIS community congratulates Steffanie Bless, Alaiza Joy, and Janine Roj for their outstanding achievements and wishes them success as they advance to the regional level.
From the division stage to the regional arena, the young journalists of Libtong Integrated School continue to write, inspire, and make their school proud.
